La Quinta Inn And Suites By Wyndham Springfield IL

Did a few deliveries here, and I actually like the way it felt when I walked through the doors. I haven't been in the rooms yet. But I will update my review once I do.

The Good, the bad, and the ugly ISN’T just the name of an old Clint Eastwood movie but describes my experience at this particular La Quinta hotel. Normally I can overlook a minor issue as an aging facility and move on. I had stayed at other La Quinta hotels and had lovely experiences. If something is wrong, I give a person an opportunity to fix it before whining on the internet with a bad review: but bad and indifferent customer service is totally unacceptable. Upon entering the room there was a small pile of pet food swept behind the door. I told the person at the front desk who was busy scrolling on their phone about it and the reply was “I can get you a broom so you can sweep it up.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? I politely declined. The proper response should have been either “Can I get you into another room? Or I will have housecleaning up there immediately!” There is no room for error in making a bad impression in the customer service industry. This particular La Quinta on this particular day needs to look at how things are done and make some changes. Reading some of the recent comments it seems like problems are not going away. Too many choices around for a better hotel stay.

We paid over $500 for a "Deluxe Executive King Studio Suite - Non-Smoking". The bathroom is in absolutely reprehensible condition. The door frame is broken and there's a brown substance splattered all over (see photo), it legitimately smells disgusting permanently in there, like feces. 24/7 from the instant we walked in. Also the bathroom's sink doesn't drain, so once it got full (please see the picture of our sink full of used water) we have to empty it by dumping cup-fulls of dirty sink water in the toilet. I've stayed at a red roof inn in Texas for $29 for a night and the bathroom was not nearly this bad. I went down and told the front desk lady, I thought I was nice about it but she just replied "did you notify management yesterday when you checked in?" I tried to tell her hey, we had just got in from flying and driving last night when we checked in and immediately went to sleep, so I'm just now notifying the hotel, we have that room for 4 more days. She just repeated "there's nothing I can do" so I walked back to the smelly room, I guess that's that. Please see the picture I took from our room. I guess we just have to use another bathroom? Because it's pretty unbearable in our room's bathroom.
