La Reserve 1785 Canggu Beach

I recently stayed at La Reserve 1785 and overall had a wonderful experience. The room was beautiful and spotless, amenties were ample and pampering and the location was peaceful and secluded while still being close to central Canggu with its amazing shops and restaurants. The service was impeccable — always polite, attentive, and very personal. One of the biggest highlights for me was that despite the humid and rainy weather, the hotel managed to keep our room completely mosquito-free, even though the bathroom was not fully enclosed. The complimentary golf cart service to nearby spots was fantastic, and the spa was truly excellent — beautiful, clean, relaxing, with outstanding service. There were just a few minor downsides. Since the hotel does not have its own gym, I was taken to a very expensive full-day concept fitness club when I only wanted to use a treadmill for a short run. I had only my wallet and headphones with me, so it was quite clear I wasn’t planning to spend the entire day there. A 30-minute treadmill run cost 500,000 IDR, which felt unnecessary for what I needed. The gym itself was modern and well-equipped, but it wasn’t the right fit for my purpose. Additionally, while the food is often highly praised, I personally found it average — perhaps my expectations were high given the exceptional dining options in the area. Unfortunately, the coffee drinks were below average. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay, and if we return to Bali and Canggu in the future, this hotel would definitely be our preferred choice in the area.

I'm a Muslim, and when I came to Front Dex asking where I could pray, the guys gave me an entire room just for me. This was very nice and appreciated. I wish you prosperity. I'm glad there are places like this, with such management and owners.

I rarely write public reviews but for this wonderful place I definitely want to leave one. The hotel itself is a gem: stylish, quiet and good vibes only. Every time we were coming back from the lively Canggu city, we were hearing “welcome home, Sir, Madam…” Whatever we asked, everything was just “sure, what else can we do for you?” Apart from that, food was amazing! Breakfast…wow! You can have it at any time you are ready and pick whatever you can think of. I really love iconic and stylish places, with antique details and aura, but this place exceeded all my expectations…The GM of the hotel, Ngurah, is a wonderful person himself, every time greeting us with the biggest smile and questions “what can we do for you?” His team was exactly the same…As I am a businesswoman, I know how important it is to keep the good energy inside the company, because it is transmitted to your clients and guests…but you, Ngurah and the team had it all! Thank you soooo much, we will definitely be back next winter! Highly recommended.
