Landmark Nakhonphanom Hotel

I am writing to formally report a serious safety incident involving my mother, who stayed at your hotel in Nakhon Phanom on February 19. Around midnight, someone attempted to open her hotel room door without permission. Fortunately, my mother had engaged the chain lock. She heard the door being pushed and then suddenly shut again. She was extremely frightened and did not dare approach the door. My mother is nearly 70 years old and was alone in the room. She immediately attempted to contact the front desk. She was told someone would call her back and that management would be informed. However, no one followed up for two days, and she had to call back herself. Even more concerning: • The hotel first stated that security saw the door open and close. • Later, the hotel claimed that no one was there at that time. These conflicting responses are alarming. There was: • No clear explanation • No formal incident report • No direct apology from management • No reassurance regarding security review • No responsibility taken Instead, she was told “you can sue us or call the police if you want,” which is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. This situation caused severe emotional distress to my elderly mother. She carried fear and anxiety for days due to the hotel’s unresponsive handling of a serious safety breach. This is a major failure of basic hospitality and safety standards. We require: 1. A formal written explanation of what occurred. 2. Confirmation of security camera review. 3. Clarification on who accessed or attempted to access the room. 4. Information on corrective action taken. 5. An official apology and proper resolution. If we do not receive a prompt and responsible response, we will consider escalating this matter further through formal complaint channels and legal review. We expect an urgent response.

It's a house in dire need of renovation; the furnishings are ancient, the bed linens and towels are unsightly, some frayed and stained, and the shower is utterly repulsive. I had to carry my own luggage to the room, and there was no service whatsoever. Breakfast (Nescafe) is meager, served from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m., with hours and atmosphere more like a cafeteria than a hotel. The only thing the house seems to offer is its location, which I personally found too noisy, even at night. I felt completely uncomfortable and moved to a brand-new and much cheaper hotel just a few meters away. I booked the Landmark through Agoda for about €40 per night, which was completely overpriced. It was the worst value for money I've ever experienced in a hotel in Thailand; I can't recommend it to anyone!
