I had the worst experience in 40 years of traveling, all because of the head receptionist, a woman named Eva Sánchez. She was incredibly rude to me on the phone, wouldn't let me explain my mistake of booking the wrong date due to my poor eyesight, and asked her to book me for the correct date. She then hung up on me mid-sentence. It couldn't have been more unpleasant. I also requested an appointment with Mr. Leftlet (the father), which she refused. Even so, they charged me €75 for an unstayed stay on October 12, 2025. I would also like to thank a receptionist, also named Eva, who helped us the weekend of October 25-26. We stayed there to give her a chance to rectify the situation, especially since we were going to be regular guests every two weeks for quite some time (my son is hospitalized nearby, and the rooms seemed decent). The opportunity was lost when he refused to answer the phone, only giving instructions to a rather inexperienced receptionist (Ms. Lourdes) and refusing to let her contact the hotel's manager and owner. This young woman's inexperience could have been mitigated by having Ms. Eva Sánchez training her and not leaving her alone on weekends. Queues formed in front of her because she couldn't handle cases and was constantly calling her immediate supervisor (Mr. Alberto) to ask questions. On the positive side, Eva, the receptionist, and the cleaning staff were very kind. A recommendation for the owner, Mr. Leflet: the showers need to be replaced. For non-disabled guests, the shower was too low and directed outwards, turning the bathroom into a pool of water due to an inadequate shower screen. The showers should be renovated, and the cafeteria should be made operational. Oh, and I saw many rather provocative Latina women with older men in the hotel lobby. Yesterday, October 29, 2025, coincided with the anniversary of the tragic DANA storm that caused the deaths of more than 200 people. Given the forecast of adverse weather conditions and the declaration of an orange alert in Seville, local authorities and various public agencies activated safety protocols to protect workers and citizens. Consequently, we requested the cancellation or rescheduling of the hotel reservation made for this business trip. However, this hotel refused to cancel or modify the reservation, citing the strict application of its internal policies, which do not allow for exceptions in cases of force majeure related to official weather alerts. This response contrasts sharply with best practices recommended in the sector, which typically include flexibility in emergency situations recognized by the authorities. As a consequence, we have instructed our travel management department to exclude this hotel chain from future contracts, prioritizing suppliers that have established protocols for flexibility and adaptation in the event of emergencies. This decision reflects the company's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees, as well as collaborating with organizations that share these values. It is considered essential that service providers, especially in the area of business travel, adapt their policies to contribute to collective safety and compliance with current regulations regarding the protection of individuals from hazardous weather events.
