Nice in Resort. Would stay again.

I’m very disappointed with how Legacy Vacation Resort in Palm Coast handled our recent reservation. I had a 7-night stay booked on a Black Friday special as a Christmas gift for my three kids. Unfortunately, I came down with the flu 3 days before our trip, so I called to see if there was any flexibility. I was not asking to cancel.. only to push the reservation back by one day while still keeping all seven nights like planned. I was told this would require an additional charge of over $500 being the Black Friday rate I booked with is no longer offered and they can not allow me to have the same rates if the booking was changed even though 6 nights remain the same nights and couldn’t charged me extra for the 1 night that’s being changed despite the fact that I was trying to keep the same length of stay and the same resort. So being they did not offer an other options but keep or cancel and I was still ill I said sure just cancel. I then called back next day with a new solution I thought could work and asked if I could at least keep six of the seven nights at the original rate and simply remove the first night since we were sick and can’t make it in time anymore. That was also denied, with no flexibility offered at all. I asked to speak with a manager and was told one would call me back the following morning since it was a Sunday and they won’t be in until Monday. I never received a call, email, or any follow-up. What makes this especially frustrating is that we stayed at this resort just a few months ago and absolutely loved it. That’s the only reason we booked again and were trying so hard to make it work. We weren’t trying to game the system.. just to arrive healthy and still enjoy most of the trip as repeat loyal customers rather than researching other resorts nearby. Because of the rigid policies and lack of communication, we still haven’t made the trip and my kids were extremely disappointed after this was supposed to be their Christmas gift. The way this situation was handled really left a bad taste, especially given our previous positive experience and plans to make this a regular family destination. I truly hope Legacy reconsiders their modification policies in the future and improves communication when issues like this come up. I understand there is an 72 hour cancelation process but I was not looking for a cancelation, simply a modification of 1 day out of 7. Unfortunately, as of now, this experience has changed how I feel about the resort and I hope I see change in the future so I may reconsider this accommodation.
