Livemax Resort Hakone Ashinoko

It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I paid the year-end rate of 100,000 yen to stay there, but the open-air bath isn't even outside at all, it's inside the room, and the whole room is set up like a karaoke room. There were many damaged areas, and I wonder if they're still running it properly. The breakfast wasn't even included, so I'll never stay here again.

Assuming I stay at least 70 days a year, staying in hotels ranging from luxury to affordable, both domestically and internationally. There are many things to criticize, but here are the highlights in chronological order. ○ Parking is extremely difficult. ○ There's no one at the front desk. ○ After checking in, I tried to use the sauna, but it wasn't warm and I couldn't use it. When I tried to use it in the morning, it wasn't installed because the men's and women's rooms had been switched on, so I couldn't use it. ○ The bath wasn't very well cleaned, with light bulbs burned out or the wrong color used. ○ Many of the in-house amenities, including the outdoor bath and washlet in the guest rooms, didn't work or wouldn't turn on. ○ The food wasn't like the one in the photo, but rather resembled something from a wholesale supermarket. The meat and sashimi were a little better. ○ The room seemed like it had been renovated from a love hotel, with the floor sagging in places. Overall, I felt like there were a lot of things that were just used to make it look like they weren't lying. For example, the platter in the photo is only for the photo, and it's not a wooden platter but plastic, and the contents are completely different. But they do exist, right? Like, "But platters exist, right?" (The photo shows more supermarket-style platters, but I only took photos of things I thought I would be happy to eat.) I don't really like writing reviews like this, but there are other good hotels in the same price range (around 30,000 yen per room for two people), so I thought I'd write this to prevent other victims. I hope this is helpful for anyone considering staying at this hotel.

I booked a slightly more expensive room, but to be honest, I thought that was about what I expected. First of all, the parking lot is very small. There was a nice concrete parking lot, but there was also a gravel parking lot with just a traffic cone, as shown in the photo. Also, it's hard to see in the photo, but the gravel area is on a slope, which makes parking scary. On the day I stayed, the concrete parking lot was empty, but I was forced to park in the gravel lot. There was trash in the room, probably left behind by the previous guest. I was very disappointed. Also, there was something white floating in the open-air bath in my room, which made me hesitant to get in. There were also water droplets, marks from someone drinking from it, and other things on the window and cups, which made me lose interest in using it. I recommend bringing towels and paper cups with you in advance. Overall, it lacked a clean, tidy feel. Also, maybe it was because of the location of my room, but there was a wall-like partition that blocked off the view from the window. This is a harsh review, but I don't think I'll be going back. Even if there was a reason why it was a little cheaper, I think it would be better to go to another hotel rather than paying that high a price. It might be okay if you're looking for something cheaper.
