We went to a hot spring, but the large public bath was out of order and we couldn't use it, and they didn't tell us about it until we asked. All the staff were foreigners and could only do the standard service. We asked about a lost item, but they didn't reply for three weeks. The hotel was terrible. It's a shame because the trip itself was fun with the family.

This was my second time staying at this inn. I'm a mom of two kids and love to travel, taking short trips at least once a month. Even if I like a certain inn, I usually don't return to it and prefer to stay at various inns. However, I've stayed at Livmax hotels, including Shimoda, many times. I can wholeheartedly recommend them for being so easy to visit with kids. I especially love Shimoda. - Each room has an open-air bath (even if the kids fall asleep in the room, you can still soak in the hot spring while keeping an eye on them...it couldn't be better). - The room we stayed in this time had a loft, which the kids loved. - The buffet was incredibly high-quality (there were so many delicious dishes like salmon roe, sashimi, and meat, and there were also plenty of desserts like fruit and ice cream that kids loved). - I also really appreciate the fact that there's no extra charge for infants and toddlers. I think this is a truly child-friendly inn. Is it really worth it for such a great hot spring, such delicious food, and such a low price? The cost performance is unbeatable. If I had to say, it would be perfect if there was a kids' area with a few toys (even a really small one would be fine). (Though it's perfect as it is, lol.) This was my second stay, and I was so grateful for the healing I received both physically and mentally, so I decided to write a review.

The open-air bath in our room was great. It was just the two of us and we were able to relax very well. The buffet had a lot of food and it was delicious, and my boyfriend seemed very satisfied. The staff's service was also impeccable. It was the last weekend of the New Year holidays, so it took five hours each way, but we were very satisfied. I'd like to visit again 🍀*゜ Thank you very much.
