We spent a week at the hotel. It is quiet, and our room was a highlight. We enjoyed the food. Only a 10 minute walk to town. There is a new manager who sets a great example -friendly, attentive and works so hard to make sure guests are happy.

The Buddha Beach is the last hotel at the eastern end of Santa Maria (at least as of February 2026). It's accessed via a dirt road, with parking directly in front. The hotel has a large pool with sun loungers and Balinese beds. The rooms are adequately sized and in good condition. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel restaurant is good and reasonably priced. A small garden with a lawn (!) and palm trees leads to the coastal path, and beyond that, the sea. The shoreline directly behind the hotel is very rocky, making swimming difficult. For that, you should head a few hundred meters east to the sandy beach. The town center is a 10- to 15-minute walk away. Overall, it's a wonderful haven of peace and quiet if you want to unwind for a few days!

Beautiful, sleek, and quietly located hotel with an excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. The reception could have been a bit more professional/pleasant. They want to get rid of you too quickly, and you're immediately presented with a piece of paper...with the hotel rules. The beach towels are in need of replacement. Poor quality (thin) and too small. The standard rooms are very basic: no doors on the wardrobe, just a few shelves and a safe. There's no space in the bathroom. The floor is shoddily finished with silicone. The curtains can't be opened due to lack of privacy, as they're right on the street. 3 stars, not 4. The Buddhas are overwhelming but not really bothersome. What's the meaning or origin of their placement? A tip: write something about them and give them to hotel guests, instead of just rules. It's a shame that the beaches are littered with rubbish (plastic bottles and cans, clothes, and trash). Apparently, the tax we pay to the hotel isn't used for this! Such a shame. If the hotel wants to live up to its 4 stars, management needs to focus on the quality of every detail, not just the restaurant. Still, it's highly recommended and an excellent alternative for those who don't want to stay in a gigantic all-inclusive hotel where you're treated like a number.
