We absolutely loved our stay at Lodge Bordeaux. Stephanie and David were great to deal with. The lodge is kept extremely neat and tidy, and the attention to detail is commendable. The location is great too, very central, close to everything. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting Whangarei.

Our 5-night family getaway at this motel was absolutely perfect – we couldn’t have asked for more! The rooms were spotlessly clean, with fresh linens and a bright, airy feel that made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The kitchenette was a game-changer for our whānau: it came fully stocked with a stove, fridge, microwave, and all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed to whip up our own kai. Being able to cook meals in-house saved us time and money, and it was so much nicer than eating out every night with our little one. But the real highlight for everyone – especially our 3-year-old boy – was the spa bath. He spent every moment splashing around, giggling with delight, and begging us to let him stay in just five more minutes. It was such a sweet, memorable part of our days there. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. Everyone was so friendly and approachable, and Stephanie and David in particular were incredibly accommodating. When we asked about early check-in and a late checkout to fit our travel plans, they said yes without hesitation – that kind of flexibility made all the difference for our busy whānau. Another huge plus was the on-site laundry. Staying for five nights meant we’d normally end up with a mountain of washing to take home, but being able to throw a load in while we explored made the trip so much more relaxed. And the location? Unbeatable. We were just a short drive (or even a nice walk) from town, so we could easily pop out for coffee, hit the shops, or visit local parks whenever we wanted. All in all, this accommodation checked every box for us. We left feeling refreshed, well-cared for, and already planning our next trip back. Thank you for such a wonderful stay – we’ll definitely be booking again soon!
