From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, with the resort’s intimate size making it feel exclusive without being pretentious. The beachfront bure was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with stunning ocean views and easy access to the water. Meals were consistently enjoyable, showcasing fresh local produce and flavours, and dining by the water at sunset was a highlight of the stay. The resort grounds are well maintained, and the overall pace encourages you to slow down and truly unwind. What truly sets Lomani apart, however, is its outstanding guest service. Oli, William, Luisa, Jovesa, Bill, and Vani deserve special mention for going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their friendliness, attentiveness, and genuine care created a personal connection that made us feel less like guests and more like valued friends. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and service was always delivered with warmth and smiles. While there is room for minor refinements to reach a full five stars, Lomani Island Resort remains a wonderful choice for couples seeking relaxation, romance, and authentic Fijian hospitality.

Overall, I would say the scenery at Lomani Island Resort is undeniably beautiful, and the food itself was generally decent. However, unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by multiple management and communication issues that significantly affected what was meant to be a very special trip. After arriving, I asked the front desk several times about having dinner at the beachfront bure. Each time, I received different and contradictory answers. Initially, I was told that paying FJD 50 per person would allow us to dine there. Later, when I went to make the booking, another Duty Manager told me that the only way to use the beachfront bure was to book a FJD 480 proposal package. As I was indeed planning a proposal, I agreed to book the package. However, the contents of the package were never clearly explained. I was only vaguely told that it included a three-course dinner, a bottle of champagne, some decorations, and that a cake would be “included as a gift.” No clear breakdown of costs or inclusions was provided. After booking, the Duty Manager asked what message I wanted written on the cake, which I confirmed clearly on the spot. However, the following day, while my girlfriend and I were together, another staff member deliberately distracted me and asked again about the cake wording. This raised suspicion for my girlfriend and nearly ruined the surprise I had carefully planned. The dinner setup itself was warm and romantic, and the atmosphere was nice. We selected our meals normally. Near the end of dinner, a staff member told me I had FJD 70 remaining in my package and asked if I would like to take another bottle of champagne back to the room. I agreed initially, then asked if I could instead have two Italian sparkling cocktails, which the staff member confirmed was fine. However, two minutes after serving the drinks, the staff member returned and said she had miscalculated the costs, claiming she forgot to include decoration fees. She then told me the remaining balance was insufficient and that the cocktails were not included in the FJD 480 package, so I would need to pay extra. Given the occasion, I chose not to argue and agreed to pay, but this was extremely unprofessional. Later that night, shortly after returning to our room, housekeeping knocked on the door to deliver a bottle of water and some coffee capsules — which felt unnecessary and disruptive at that hour. Minutes later, we received a call from reception asking me to settle the full bill immediately because we had an early boat departure the next morning. When I went to reception, I discovered that the total bill was clearly incorrect. Upon reviewing it carefully, I found that the FJD 480 proposal package had been charged again, despite the fact that I had already prepaid this amount at the time of booking (which was required). After questioning this, I was made to wait over 20 minutes at around 9 p.m. while staff attempted to resolve the issue. During this process, I also noticed that the supposedly “complimentary” cake had been charged to me at FJD 35, which I had already paid. Being charged for something explicitly described as a gift was extremely disappointing. Additionally, during our three-day stay, no Cloud 9 trips were operating at all, meaning this advertised activity was unavailable. I originally planned to book a private boat for two people at FJD 300 total, but later found three other guests willing to join us. The resort agreed to arrange a private trip for five people. Based on previous reviews, Cloud 9 pricing is typically FJD 79 per person, while a private boat for two is FJD 300 (i.e. FJD 150 per person). However, when I asked how much each of us would need to pay for the five-person private boat, I was told FJD 100 per person. This price was not listed anywhere on any official price list, and no explanation was given, leaving me unsure whether the charge was accurate.
