Lomnice Hotel & Restaurant

A little torn with this review and really wished I could give it more, but on reflection I think the above is fair. Firstly, front of house staff, we cannot fault. They work so many hours and always have a smile on their faces, being in first thing in the morning and leaving so late at night, so they are a true credit to the company. But in a way how hard and short staffed they are (bar maid is the manager, receptionist and everything else rolled into one) made the issues worse as it was difficult to complain. Location of the Hotel is first class, slap bang in the centre of everything, with Yellow Point Ski hire directly next door, bus stop literally outside the door and seconds away from restaurants and shops. Now the issues. Firstly, the rooms and room service. This is where it falls down a little. We stayed 6 nights and stayed in the apartment on the third floor with 4 people in the room. Our eldest daughter stayed in another room on the second floor. Our daughters room got cleaned daily, beds made etc, but ours....... Over 6 nights the beds were made once. It was day 3 before the towels were changed. 2 days we got back and the bins had not been empty, leaving us to have to stack rubbish beside the bins rather than in them. The first two days we were out early and back by 145 when the cleaner turned up, so we left the room so it could be cleaned, to turn up a few hours later to a dirty room. It's as if the rooms on the top floor were the last to be cleaned and once 2pm came (the time rooms were cleaned until), the cleaner would just pack up and leave regardless of whether finished or not. The fact we spent over €3000 total for the rooms doesn't help the fact we did not get the service we paid for and that was advertised in their own in room info book. Disappointing. In a room for 4 people there were 2 bowls, 2 plates, 2 glasses, 2 knives and forks. There were no towels for the kitchen stuff, even though there was a kitchenette. There was pans even though no hob, but then nothing we could food in to heat it up in the microwave. Utensils we received just did not make sense and we're very limiting when we tried to make snacks etc. The main issue was new years eve. This hotel allows dogs and the 2nd apartment had dogs in it that night. Rules clearly state not to leave the dogs in the room by themselves, but this obviously was not observed. We got back after 12, dogs barking and we thought it was the noise of us in the hall. We went into the room and got ready for bed. 1.30 in the morning the dogs still barking, preventing our kids from sleeping as they were in the main room. They finally came in to us to say the dogs will not shut up, so I went down to ask staff if they could do anything, but all staff had left and the downstairs all locked up. As mentioned they work hard and deserve a break, but most hotels would usually have someone available for situations like this. We didn't get to sleep until after 230 that night and the dogs started barking again at 8am leaving us with tired kids and parents alike. It was a good stay, but unfortunately there were major let downs that couldn't really be reported, so we got on with it and done our best with the hand we were dealt.

Great visit today 👍 Very pleasant and calm atmosphere, where you feel really good. The service was absolutely great - the waiter and the waitress were very nice, helpful, friendly and professional, in short, on point. The food was delicious, without a single flaw, made from quality ingredients and beautifully served, the portions were more than sufficient. We would be happy to come back and can only recommend the restaurant. 😊

We were looking for a place to share a meal with a larger group, and this was the perfect choice. The staff welcomed us very warmly and prepared the place efficiently. The food was excellent – everyone left satisfied and full.
