Lomond Park Hotel

Near the train station. This is the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in, it was damaged, cobwebs and black mold. The night porter was very friendly.

Having stayed here previously can honestly say will never stay again was booked in for 2 nights on New Year’s Eve on arrival and booked in both rooms we booked were absolutely freezing on reporting radiators had no heat from them nothing was done about it bedding was terrible quilts to small for size of bed only 1 towel for 2 people management not interested at all ending up leaving after only 1 night totally disappointed with the whole place

After several days of wild camping, we were dreaming of a real warm bed with a good beer! Even though it was a bit pricey, we decided to stay at this hotel because it was close to the train station... Well, there was the bed and the warmth. One small problem: we moved our headboard, as the bed was on a slope! But hey, finding a flat spot is our daily life when camping! Then there was the kettle socket, too far from the table, so we had to put it on the floor. But still better than the stove! Ugh, the bathroom and toilet were not great: no towels, no floor mat, the toilet brush was scary to use... The lamps that didn't really stay on the wall and that crackled gave a bit of a cowboy saloon feel! The shower vent was so dirty that the air couldn't get through! But the water was nice and hot (thankfully!) And the atmosphere at the bar didn't really make us want to drink a beer. Luckily, we had our flask of whiskey! And finally, the tent floor is cleaner than the hotel floor! In short, we're used to sleeping in places that aren't very comfortable, and we're quite adaptable, but we still want to point out that it's neither fair nor right to charge 100 pounds per night for such deplorable service. In hostels, you get much better service for a third the price. Too bad, it could be a really cool hotel, cheap, a bit rootsy, but friendly and welcoming! Maybe one day that will change...? We hope so!
