The rooms were very noisy; you could hear the neighbor snoring. It was far too warm in the room; I couldn't regulate the temperature myself. The bathroom was very small, and because it was so hot, the air vent dried out, creating a sewer smell. The location was perfect, close to the city center and within walking distance of everything. Parking was available right by the hotel.

The Basilian Monastery, also known as the Monastery of Saint Basil the Great, has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Founded by the Basilian Order, a religious community of Eastern origin, the monastery was dedicated to Saint Basil the Great and was renowned for its rigorous monastic lifestyle and emphasis on education and study. The original building was constructed in a late Renaissance style, although Baroque elements were later incorporated, adding to its splendor. Over the centuries, the monastery served not only as a spiritual retreat but also as a center of learning. The Basilian monks established a school that gained a reputation for academic excellence, attracting students from across the region. A French barracks during the Peninsular War and used for other purposes after the 1835 confiscation of church property, the Basilian Monastery now operates as the Hotel Macià Monasterio de los Basilios.
