We checked in while passing through town, only to discover that the pool and one hot tub were completely closed, and the second hot tub that was supposedly available was lukewarm and essentially not working. When we booked this hotel, we were told there were two hot tubs and a pool, which was a major reason we chose this location. We are traveling with two children who were looking forward to swimming on vacation. Because the advertised amenities were not available, we requested a refund and chose not to stay. Management refused, stating that the price is the same with or without amenities. At no point during booking were we informed that the pool and hot tub were closed or that the remaining hot tub had no heat. This information should have been clearly disclosed. We are extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and the unwillingness to help resolve the issue. We were essentially told we were out of luck. If you’re looking at MainStay save your money and go to another hotel in Fargo. We only booked the hotel the day prior since we were passing through town. The manager basically stole from us and when we did not even stay on the property and refused to refund and we never checked in. We highly recommend Come on Inn. We have been there a couple times and it’s essentially the same price with a very nice pool area and multiple hot tubs. The hot tubs are actually hot and it’s much cleaner. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They also let us have a late check out and have us a military discount. Mainstay is trash.
