Unlocking my first (and possibly last) presidential suite! 🔹Room: Because of my birthday, my friend and I booked a presidential suite to try it out. It cost NT$13,000 per night, which wasn't too expensive. There were two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a huge living room, and a piano. The bed was large and comfortable, and the pillows were also very big. One bathroom had a jacuzzi and shower, while the other only had a shower. All amenities were provided, which was great. Upon arrival, we received welcome refreshments (tea and Vietnamese spring rolls), afternoon tea (drinks, Vietnamese pastries, and fruit), and a very generous buffet breakfast. The room had red wine, chocolates, coffee and tea bags, and a basket of fruit (grapes, mangoes, apples, and many other varieties), but no fruit knife or peeler was provided, so I only ate a few grapes, which was a bit of a shame. 🔹Service: The service was excellent. My friend had noted it was for a birthday celebration when booking, and on the morning of their birthday, while they were packing to check out, someone rang the doorbell. When they opened the door, three or four staff members were there with a cake to celebrate! It was a wonderful surprise, and they even gave them a small card and a 100th-anniversary bag – a truly delightful birthday surprise. 🔹Other: There's a bar on the 8th floor where you can enjoy drinks while admiring the river view. It's a chill spot to go in the evening, but it only closes at midnight. There's a swimming pool and a gym. The gym equipment is quite comprehensive for a hotel. The swimming pool isn't large, but it's deep, reaching a maximum depth of 2.4 meters. Lockable lockers, towels, and showers (with shower gel and shampoo) are provided. There are also separate spa rooms available for a fee. For a five-star hotel, the price isn't too expensive, making it suitable for those who want a massage but don't want to go out or can't make a reservation. 🔸Overall The room wasn't particularly luxurious, leaning more towards an executive suite. It had a desk and meeting space, but no comfortable sofa to relax on. The bathroom and room were fairly standard. However, the included services and pleasant surprises made it worthwhile. Importantly, it wasn't expensive for a presidential suite, so if you have the budget, it's worth checking out.

This is a 3 Star hotel, at five star prices. Good location, but old hotel with that old, run-down, mildewy sort of smell and look to it. It needs a good looking over, and work and effort applied to bring it up to a five star standard.
