Our stay at the Mandarin in Geneva was quite disappointing, especially compared to our experience at the Mandarin in Lucerne, which was absolutely top-notch in every way. The only real positive was the view, which was beautiful. Unfortunately, everything else fell short of expectations. The rooms in Geneva were extremely small — they felt more like a train cabin than a proper luxury hotel room. Space was very limited, and several basic amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this level were missing, which made the stay feel uncomfortable and underwhelming. The lobby was also practically non-existent. Instead of a welcoming, elegant entrance area, it was essentially just divided into a bar on the left and restaurants on the right, with no real sense of a proper hotel lobby or atmosphere. This was in stark contrast to the Mandarin in Lucerne, where everything was exceptional: spacious and beautiful rooms, excellent service, a well-stocked minibar, and an overall feeling of true luxury and attention to detail. The difference in quality between the two properties was surprising and disappointing, especially given the expectations associated with the Mandarin name.
