Mantra Hotel at Sydney Airport

Well the fact that i never even showed up and you’ve sent me three emails checking how my stay was shows that you clearly don’t care too much for the guests. I tried to call to tell you I wasn’t coming and was on hold for 10 minutes before I finally hung up.

Due to heavy traffic on the roads adjoining the hotel, sleep was difficult. In addition, despite the name including 'on Sydney Airport', the hotel is some distance away from the international airport (and domestic) hence the requirement for a taxi to the airport. There is a shuttle available at $12.00 per person but we preferred the certainty of a taxi.

Dined in at the hotel’s restaurant for food and drinks. It wasn’t a busy night but our drinks (not even a cocktail) took about 20 minutes to arrive. There were 2 staff at the bar and they were just chatting. We ordered another set of drinks which were beer and a spirit and mixer but it took another 10-15 minutes to arrive. The beer came flat with no head. I watched the staff pour the beer in one go. I also asked for my drink on a short glass so it’s strong, but the bartender put so much mixer and only 3 cubes of ice. Clearly a lack of knowledge and they don’t care about the people waiting. The next day, we asked for a late check out and PAID for it. At 12pm, a housekeeper knocked and asked what time we will be checking out, she left after being told that we paid for late check out. Ten minutes later, my partner was showering with the bathroom door opened as we expect our room to be private, but another housekeeper knocked twice and opened the door to our room without even waiting for someone to answer the door first. She clearly heard us talking and the high-pressure water dripping from the shower, but she chose to let herself in when my partner was showering with bathroom door open. IT WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND UNACCEPTABLE! There was no apology from the housekeeper and just asked when we’re checking out! Lack of communication between staff, no respect, no sense of urgency and doesn’t care about the guests!! Will never stay here again!!
