I arrived earlier than the check-in time because I took the express bus, but the front desk staff were very accommodating and I was shown to my room without having to wait with my luggage. I was happy that the hot springs were open 24 hours, so I could go for a soak right away. Dinner was buffet style, and although I went near closing time, everything was properly replenished, so there was nothing I couldn't eat. The building is old, but it is very clean. Above all, I was happy that I could enjoy the sulfurous hot springs anytime, and even after checking out, I could play at the ski resort and then take a short dip in the hot springs before heading home. It was wonderful to experience the extraordinary feeling of an open-air bath with falling snow with my child.

The sulfurous smell of the hot springs is absolutely fantastic. There's a mixed-gender bath, but you can enter while wrapped in a towel, so it's fun and recommended for families. The hot springs at Manza Kogen Hotel are also a big plus, as they offer a shuttle bus service and admission is free. The facilities are undeniably old, but the quality of the spring water is superb, so it's forgivable.
