MARAYA HOTEL AND RESORT

Aesthetically pleasing, newly built, the room interiors and housekeeping are excellent. There's the option to use the pool, and along the river is a small bar where you can enjoy pastries, coffee, or drinks. The breakfast buffet is sparse; we asked for chocolate, but they didn't have any. The location is slightly out of the way from downtown Chiang Mai. If you use Grab, plan your arrival time carefully, as it may take longer to find a taxi on the way there.

We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. The receptionists were all lovely, polite, and helpful. They spoke politely. Check-in was fast, and we could choose breakfast and a time to come down for dinner upon check-in. They even carried our luggage up for us. Our room was on the second floor, a connecting room next to another room. It came with slippers, a daily bottle of drinking water per person, a bathtub (the water flow was incredibly strong), cold air conditioning, a soft bed, and (too) soft pillows. There was a sofa by the window for relaxing and enjoying the pool view. The problem was the first night, around 11:00 PM, the room next door seemed to be a young Western woman screaming and talking very loudly. Plus, the smell of marijuana! It wafted out through the adjacent door. We couldn't smell it when we opened the window (I think they hadn't opened the window to ventilate, so the smell was trapped in the room and wafted into our room). I didn't mind the noise, but the smell was so bad I couldn't sleep. So I notified the hotel via Line around 11:00 PM about the smell, so I covered my head and stuffed my nose with smelling salts to sleep. The next morning, the staff apologized via Line and said they would move me to another room on the corner. I was okay with that. If it weren't for the smell, I wouldn't have wanted to move because I was too busy packing up. So I told the staff I wanted to move in the afternoon after returning from a trip. The room was still full of marijuana. The staff must have smelled the same thing when I arrived. It was all over the bedding and curtains, and it was incredibly suffocating. The staff even helped me move my things. I got a bigger room, which, if it weren't for the marijuana smell, would have been fine. It was a bit too small, but I was too lazy to move. Breakfast was served in four options. As far as I can remember, there was an American breakfast, a vegetarian breakfast, and a Thai breakfast: rice porridge with pork and one boiled egg. (I can't remember the other one.) There was orange juice, water, milk, tea, coffee, Ovaltine, dragon fruit, watermelon, toast, small croissants, and other baked goods. The buffet was all-you-can-eat, and I loved it. It was so varied and filling. - The rice porridge was delicious. I added a little pepper. 👍 Overall, I was very impressed. The view was beautiful, but unfortunately, I didn't get to swim and go to the cafe. It was a 1000/100 baht price, which was a good value. 📣 Parking is shared with the cafe. There are about 6 spaces for cars. It can get full in the morning and afternoon. But in the evening, it's so relaxing. It's about a 3-minute drive, and there are two 7-Elevens nearby. If you're driving, it's relatively easy to get to Chiang Mai's attractions: the zoo, Chiang Mai University, and Nimmanhaemindae, all within 15-25 minutes. It's an easy drive. I really like the Chiang Mai people's personality. They're polite, orderly, and considerate drivers who follow traffic rules. 👍👍 I was impressed. I'll definitely stay here again. 👍👍👍👍👍

The atmosphere is good. There is a cafe hidden by the Ping River. On the opposite side, you can see a square pagoda. The view is very beautiful.
