Marina Palace Hotel

We booked two rooms. We had read that many people had problems, but we trusted the place. Check-in was quick and easy. Room 1: Upon entering the room, we saw that there were two separate beds. While I was calling the front desk (I speak fluent Italian) to report the problem, my partner saw that one of the coat hooks was broken. The receptionist came up and said that he would send someone to push the bed together. I said that was fine, but the sheet should be big so that it wouldn't slide apart later. I asked how long we would have to wait because I wanted to take a picture of the room before we made ourselves comfortable. He wondered why I would take a picture. I said that I write a blog (and as you can see from my profile, I often leave reviews). A few minutes later, he came back to say that we would get another room, let's go with it. The next room already had a double bed (which I had booked). There was no door on the closet. As it turned out later, there was only a bathrobe, slippers and everything else. According to them, there was another room ready, although she had previously claimed that it wasn't (and at that time she was still at the reception, she could look into the system). 2.. room Later my sister-in-law arrived. She occupied her room, then a few hours later she went to the bathroom, by then it was already 10 pm (we had been to dinner before). The toilet in the bathroom had brake lines, the paper was not folded as it should be in a basic state, into a triangle, and there was aftershave in the toilet. She called the receptionist (she doesn't speak Italian, so English), they told her that it was impossible, she must have used the toilet. Yes, and she had obviously shaved too. It's outrageous that a 4* hotel would assume such a thing. Then she said that her working hours would end soon. He also said that there was no cleaning staff at the moment, that he should go up and clean it up? That it was none of his business. If you're reading this, I have some bad news: it wasn't the guest's either. He was later given another room, but the receptionist said, "Just so you know, this is an upgrade." Now, he didn't want a better room, just a clean one. But that would also have proper communication: "Allow us to apologize for the inconvenience and accept this higher category room." The next day, we put up the "do not disturb" sign, we didn't want anyone to come in, but the cleaner bothered us anyway, but we told her to leave. On the third day, we put up the sign again, and then we went for a hike. We went down to breakfast. Dogs have to sit in a separate area, which hadn't even been cleaned properly, and there was water on half of the tables. You have to go up a separate flight of stairs and there is no table set either. I went up, put the dog in his place at the table and then I couldn't go into the breakfast room. There are two doors, both of which were locked from the inside. However, there is a door there before, I went in and called the receptionist, hoping she would tell the breakfast room to open one of the intermediate doors. The woman came up and condescendingly said that you have to press the handle. Here we are again at the point where the communication of the employees is terrible, I didn't even tell her which door on the phone. Then it turned out that I was the only one right, after she went down and opened the named doors from the other side with a key, but at first she didn't even apologize, only after I grumbled, she said sorry (even though we spoke Italian the whole time). By the time we returned to the room, there was a wet cloth on the table. We went down to the reception and asked if the "do not disturb" sign meant that they wouldn't come in to clean, he said yes. I put the cloth on the counter, wondering how it ended up on the table. He said it must have been left there from the day before. On the one hand, I'm saying we asked for the same thing yesterday, and on the other hand, of course, it was still wet. The breakfast is magnificent, the pools are adequate, the hotel is in a good location. But the hotel itself is 4* (I think it's more like 3, I'm a tour guide and I've visited 50 countries), if the staff barely speaks 2*. They didn't offer any compensation for the inconvenience. It's also a scam to say on the phone that if you book the room on the website, parking is free, but on the website the parking fee of 10€/night pops up.

Very nice, with rooms for all types and budgets. They also have apartments, a bar, a very nice restaurant, and a lovely pool with a shallow end for children, a deep end, and two hydromassage stations, one seated and one reclining. The breakfast included in the price offers a wide variety of sweet and savory options. The hotel offers bicycles for its guests. We had a great time, and the staff is very kind and helpful. Recommended!

We arrived with a dog. We were given no information about room cleaning times. We specifically left the dog out of the hotel room from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. After that, no one was in the room, and we left him alone for an hour. That's exactly where they wanted to come. I told a lady who spoke German the very next day. She said that people with dogs should always tell us when it's best. We weren't told this, and she apologized and said we didn't have to pay for that day (€20). Today at check-out, I explained the same thing to the receptionist. She laughed at me and said I should know who was coming when, and it was basically my own fault, and I shouldn't act like that. NEVER AGAIN! The "heated pool" isn't heated either.
