Despite being located right next to Tokyo Station, the charm of Marunouchi Hotel is its surprisingly tranquil atmosphere. Looking down from your room window, you can see the hustle and bustle of Tokyo Station, with its constant stream of people and trains. However, once you step inside your room, the hustle and bustle is belied, and the peaceful space is so serene it's hard to believe you're in the heart of the city. This is truly a hotel where you can enjoy the luxury of "serenely viewing Tokyo from above." While the hotel has seen an increase in inbound tourists in recent years, the overall impression is that the guests are calm and refined. The sophisticated atmosphere that permeates the entire building is also unique to this hotel. The hotel's facilities are also extensive. With a traditional cigar bar, authentic teppanyaki, and a high-quality restaurant, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a meal or drink within the hotel. It's great to be able to enjoy a "Marunouchi-style night" without going outside. The guest rooms are not particularly spacious, as is typical of urban hotels, but the space is used extremely well, and the stay is more comfortable than you'd expect. The calming interior and functional design made my stay very relaxing. However, there was one thing that bothered me a little: the service at the front desk. Previously, there was more attention to detail, and the sophisticated accommodations were truly impressive, making me think, "As expected of a Marunouchi Hotel." To be honest, these days the staff seem a bit bureaucratic, and a bit careless, as if they were part-timers. That said, the hotel's appeal as "a luxurious, quiet stay in the heart of Tokyo" has remained unchanged since my many visits about 10 years ago. Spending an evening overlooking the view of Tokyo Station was truly special, and it really brought home to me just how great this location is. If the attentive service could be restored to its former level, I'm sure this hotel would be a magnet for frequent visitors.
