Embarrassing from all points of view...exaggerated prices, 2-page menu and not much to choose from, you break your car in two to get to the location going down a forest road, the rooms are like a grandma's in the country and if you don't go on tiptoe the neighbor downstairs comes and knocks on your door, the hot water is either there or not...for 600 euros per night I say it's just a bad joke

Matca is a revelation for what an authentic five-star experience means. The location of the location is unique, with a dream view in any direction you look. The complex composed of the central building where the bar, restaurant and SPA area are located and the individual villas are spread on the top of a hill that provides a panoramic view of the surrounding small settlements and the mountains. The architecture is a chalet with a subtle touch of traditional Romanian elements. Everything, from the exterior alleys, facades, paneling or solid oak floors expresses an infinite attention to detail and linking of natural and authentic finishing elements. Each decorative element from the lamps that bring earthenware to the subtle Romanian motifs worked on wood or on the bedspreads, to the woven rope rugs incredibly combines modern design with traditional. The extremely kind and well-trained stuff, people are always attentive, warm and friendly. The menu created by chef Daniel Alexandru is mostly based on local Romanian products and the dishes have a special taste. The beetroot tartare with dried plums is sensational, as is the smoked eggplant salad or the burrata made from goat cheese. For a chef who is only 30 years old, I find not only the dishes remarkable, but also the organization. I forgot to mention, the dishes come quickly :) There is definitely room to improve certain dishes, but all in all the chosen mix, the presentation of the plates, the taste and the size of the portions are in perfect balance. The SPA area is definitely five stars. I have seen a few negative reviews on this subject. I confess that we do not have the same experience. Impeccable cleanliness, water at the optimal temperature, the same in the sauna. In conclusion, for us at least it was a superb experience in a unique location in Romania.

We tried to come at the place in order to eat at the restaurant but nobody was answering. Neither at the gate, or at the phone. It was a lovely sunny Sunday, 1pm, so as per the opening hours it should’ve been opened. But nothing. On google maps the place was opened, also on the gate there wasn’t anything saying that would be closed. Very unprofessional not to answer and have the place closed randomly.
