Mayfair Hotel Ascend Hotel Collection

Rooms are small, but it's right next to Book of Mormon and Chicago in the heart of Times Square. They have cheap pre and post luggage check (literally 2 dollars a bag). Huge showers. And free Swiss Miss. I think I had 10 of them over 3 days. Best deal.

My daughter and I stayed at the Mayfair Hotel in Time Square (242 W 49th Street, New York, NY 10019) November 18-20, 2025. She spilled her coffee on the bed sheets by mistake. We pulled all the bedding off the bed so it wouldn’t soak down to the mattress. We placed the sheets in the shower along with our dirty towels because we used the towels to also clean up the spill. We left the room in great condition (all trash was picked up and placed in bins). We were still charged a “Damage Fee” so I called the hotel to discuss the charged. The man that answered talked over me the whole time. He refused to let me speak to a manager or anyone else in the hotel; he said he was the only one working (he also refused to give me his name). (This phone call took place on 12/2/25 @11:45am; I hope you have a recording.) He said the sheets were damaged but couldn’t provide proof that the sheets were stained and damaged. He yelled at me, told me I was unwelcome to ever return to the Mayfair Hotel, and hung up on me. I’m extremely upset that I wasn’t able to talk and explain anything. It was an honest mistake to spill the coffee in the bed. People spill things in hotels all the time. I don’t understand why we are being charged a “Damage Fee” with no proof of the damage that the stain didn’t come out of the bed sheets. I would like to speak with some one other than the front desk.
