Reading other reviews I wondered if there is another identical hotel, as the one I stayed at did not match reviews. The lobby is not particularly inviting with receptionist in a glass box. She was super helpful, but it turns out most of what shes said was wrong! The leisure centre whilst it closes at 6pm on sunday, acutally wont let you in past 5pm. We then went ofr a swim at 8.15 the next morning, and as we went in tpthe changing room, the guy on the desk asked where our swimming hat was. Ive never been asked to buy a hat for 3 euros, before I can go in a pool - he said every hotel did it. The receptionist looked baffled when I asked and said oh yes, its normal - it isnt I can assure you. The room is ok, but it is a bit tired. No problem, went for a bath. The water is hand warm, so dont put any cold in! The TV had a Netflix button, but it doesnt work. When I went to see my super unhelpful receptionist, she said the wifi would not work with the telly! what nonsense! When I asked to speak politely to the manager, the same receptionist who had given me all the info wrong, said tell her and she would pass it on. I asked again, and was told the manager was not on site. she would call me. she hasnt. The barman short poured a shot of whiskey. When I pointed it out, he said he didnt and walked off. I stayed at the Bushmills in the night before - same price of £240 a night and it really was 'night an day'. Bushmills unbelievable serivce an accommodation and staff. If I had paid £100 for a night I would have been ok with average. But £240 in rural Ireland - a lot needs to be done to improve. Very very average and expensive for what you get.
