Mishol Bodas Hotel & Beach Club Privado

Our experience was not positive, and it's not a hotel I would recommend, especially for traveling with a baby. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to a wedding venue. We had booked four nights, but decided to change our reservation after the wedding and only stay two. We were traveling with two adults and a baby, and we definitely didn't consider it a baby-friendly hotel. We were assigned a room around 4:00 pm, which turned out to be very small. It had two double beds, and there was practically no space: from the headboard to the opposite wall, only one person could stand, with no room to move around or comfortably arrange luggage. Furthermore, the room showed several signs of neglect (dented details, worn finishes), giving it a poor maintenance feel. Housekeeping wasn't provided until 4:00 pm, which is quite late and inconvenient. The bathroom is poorly designed: you either open the door, use the toilet, or wash your hands. The showerhead points towards the area where a door should be (there's a curtain), causing water to easily splash out and making the space uncomfortable. The hotel is pet-friendly, which is a big plus in principle. However, we found several pets in the grassy areas. We understand this is the owners' responsibility, but we mentioned it to the staff, and the issue wasn't addressed during our entire stay, which negatively impacted the experience and the cleanliness of the common areas. The hotel is generally visually "okay," but there are many neglected details in the common areas: in the kitchen area, the finishes between the walls and ceilings appear incomplete or poorly maintained, and there's green mold under the pool slide. We found the restaurant expensive for what it offers. The dishes weren't anything extraordinary in relation to the prices, so we didn't think the value for money was good. As for the service, the staff is friendly, but there's a significant noise problem. Beyond the normal noise from other guests, we could clearly hear shouting among the cleaning staff, loud radio communication, and conversations between staff members, even inside the rooms, which severely disrupted our rest as it happened at all hours. The hotel's location is quite far from everything. It was convenient for the wedding day, but for a longer stay or with family, it becomes impractical. Overall, for comfort, rest, and our general experience, we decided it was better to change to another hotel. The only redeeming qualities of our stay were that the rooms had air conditioning and the hotel was close to the sea, but other than that, the experience didn't compensate for the drawbacks.

They don't honor reservations, the service is bad, they don't treat you well, honestly, I don't recommend it, don't come and get angry. They charge for tables and it's very dirty, there are stray dogs

Upon arrival, we were informed that despite having paid for our room, they no longer had one available for us. It was almost 8 PM, having driven from Mexico City at noon, and we found ourselves with the message: "We didn't have a room ready." If we wanted, since they didn't have clean linens or staff to prepare our room, they offered us a place to stay at no extra cost for our two dogs, but with unmade beds. At the moment we were informed of this, a walk-in guest arrived, and they did have rooms ready for them. This was a very unwise management decision. Obviously, we objected and demanded our room. This was our only vacation, as we are both medical professionals from Mexico City and have very few days off. In the end, they assigned us a room as ready, and to our great surprise, it was unmade. We had to complain again at reception about our rights, and while they did their work, which we had already paid for, we went to the dining room to get something to eat to give them time to clean our room. It was a wonderful gesture to offer us dinner, coffee, or drinks as a token of appreciation for us as customers and guests. No, after giving them another 60 minutes, practically closing the dining room with us still inside, they finally gave us our room. I also want to mention that, given all the inconveniences they caused us—bad moods, mistrust, discomfort, and everything else you can imagine after our arrival at the resort—the stainless steel food and water bowls for our dogs were stolen. We complained to everyone, including reception, in case someone took it by mistake, AND NO ONE SAW ANYTHING. It's deplorable. They could easily check the security cameras to see who has our bowl. I gave the location a 5 because it's real. I gave it a 5 because the restaurant service is just okay. And I gave room a 4 because I think it has the bare minimum, but the furniture is very old. The icing on the cake was when an employee told us to leave. The instructions are to sell everything and more. I'm sure there are no-shows. Terrible, especially when it comes to resolving the issues caused by overbooking. They have absolutely no conflict resolution skills. If I were the owner or manager of this resort, I would take better care of it. Returning customers are what this area needs. There are plenty of hotels and resorts. THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT GUESTS ALWAYS RETURN TO THIS RESORT. THEY HAVE HUMAN WARMTH...SOMETHING VERY DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN AND TRAIN IN STAFF. THEY HAVE THE PLACE. I'VE ALREADY DETAILED THE REST OF OUR EXPERIENCE. Offering a soft drink or coffee has a minimal cost, but it shows appreciation and a willingness to apologize and thank you for booking here.
