Mito Keisei Hotel

I think it's the best hotel near the north exit of Mito Station.

It was very beautiful.

This was my first visit to the limited-time dinner buffet, but I definitely won't be going again. First of all, this dinner could only be reserved by phone. I called in the evening, but they didn't have anyone there and asked me to call another day. They're the ones who have decided to only accept reservations by phone, so why is it that only the person in charge can make reservations? I wish the staff who answer the phone would at least handle reservations. They're not even checking anything complicated. Next, as for the food, the only luxurious item was the roast beef; the rest was just a bonus. Upon entering the venue, there was a strange smell. I think it was probably from a cream-based dish made with blue cheese. This was also a negative for me. I was surprised they even brought blue cheese, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, to prepare on the spot. Other dishes included nori rolls (I think they were filled with kanpyo or egg), stir-fried cashew nuts and chicken, mixed fried noodles, sweet stir-fried chicken, gratin, french fries that came with some other dish, fried white fish, and more, but they weren't all that appealing. The fries were popular with the kids and disappeared quickly, but they were served with other dishes and not as a main course, so they weren't replenished right away. The advertisement said it was "Western-Chinese." For Chinese food, it was a bit weak... I would have liked to have fried chicken, spring rolls, fried rice, xiaolongbao, sesame dumplings, or chili shrimp. For Western food, I would have preferred hamburger steak, pasta, or omelet rice. They said they would have dessert, but they weren't ready at first. 30 minutes after the start, they announced that they were ready. However, there were so many people rushing to get them that they were gone in an instant, and we didn't even get to see the dessert. More than 40 minutes later, the next dessert arrived, and it was fruit punch. According to people in line, they first had cake. There's a huge difference between cake and fruit punch. The fruit punch also formed a line and was gone in an instant. I waited for another 30 minutes, but dessert still didn't come. Almost all the customers had finished their main courses, so I could see they were eagerly waiting for dessert. When the third dessert came, I thought it would just be something low-cost like jelly, and I figured there would be another line and it would just be first come, first served, so I left. The price of drinks included alcohol, which was fine, but they didn't have any coffee or tea. Coke, orange juice, etc. were poured on the spot from plastic bottles. The Coke had almost lost all of its carbonation. All in all, I probably won't go back. I couldn't eat the cake, either. The roast beef was delicious, but everything else was just average. I don't recommend limited-time buffets.
