We typically love Mitsui Garden Hotels when we stay in Japan. It was our first time in Sapporo and we loved the look and style of the rooms in Mitsui Sapporo West. We had a late flight in due to weather delays and did notify the hotel we would be very late getting in. The front desk on staff that night took a while to come to the front when we arrived and did not greet us with a smile. She looked a bit annoyed, if anything. I understand we were late but we did give prior notice for our late arrival, even though the reason we were late was out of our hands due to flight delay. Our room was more cramped than expected. There was barely room to store the luggage let alone open just one up. Our bathroom also had a strong urine odor and I asked our group mates who had the room next to us if their bathroom also had a smell and they agreed. Everything looked clean but the smell was very apparent and was even stronger if you left the bathroom door closed. The rooms were 667 and 669. The onsen baths were very nice, clean, and had a nice temperature. The elevators do take a while to go up and down. There's 2 washer and dryer machines-one in the men's and one in the women's. You can check if they're in use on the tv in your room but my husband and I have found that they're not 100% accurate. You will have to test your luck if they're in use of not. The dryer strength is very weak and it took almost 3.5hrs to dry our clothes. The location is great and is close to Daimaru and also the underground passageways. There is also free amenities next to front desk if you need anything so you can just grab as you please. Overall, it was an okay hotel but we most likely won't stay again due to the strong urine smell in the bathrooms.

I stayed one night on January 13, 2026. I had previously stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel in Hiroshima, so I had a good impression of it. Location: Although it's near Sapporo Station, it's still a 7-minute walk, and possibly 10 minutes if you have luggage. At least you don't have to take the subway. It snowed heavily the day I arrived, so be aware that it's winter and you might be bringing luggage to this hotel. Service: Service is always a hallmark of the Mitsui Garden Hotel. 1. All staff members speak fluent English. 2. They greet guests politely upon arrival and when there is eye contact. 3. The staff are very proactive and polite. 4. It was snowing heavily when I arrived with my luggage, and my suitcase was covered in snow. While I was checking in, the staff kept wiping the snow off my suitcase, which was really appreciated and memorable. Room: I chose a superior twin room with a shower. The shower is near the entrance, so there's an extra door separating the bathroom. The toilet and sink are separate. The bed is very large and spacious, and I slept very comfortably. Cleanliness was impeccable, perfect. The room facilities are very well-maintained, much newer than my previous stay in Hiroshima. The room's window with a view is very large, higher than the ceiling, offering a wonderful view of snowfall. Facilities: The hotel has a large public bath, but it's slightly inferior to other hotels, with only one large hot tub. Note that it's open from 3:00 PM to 9:00 AM; if you get up late, you won't be able to use it. There are rest facilities on the 2nd floor. Although the notice says no outside food is allowed, many people still openly eat outside food. The lobby is actually rather small, but it's well-maintained.

The Front Desk K.Kitajima San was very helpful in reaching out to the medical service on 1st of Jan where my 4yrs old son was fall sick during that time. I’m grateful for her kindness in helping us at that very moment and my son did it well days later. Thank you!
