Miyuki Hamabaru Resort

We stayed at this hotel for a family trip at the end of 2025. Upon arrival, the hotel was older than expected. The entrance smelled very nice, but as other reviews have mentioned, the guest room, especially the bathroom, had an odd odor. The Japanese woman who helped us at check-in, Ms. O (female), was very pleasant. Our room was right in front of the private beach, so I imagine the view would have been great on a clear day. It was a spacious Japanese-Western room with a large refrigerator. The problem was the food... dinner. I was surprised by the limited selection! The taste wasn't great either. Frozen fried whitefish and potatoes with a smiley face. There were 10 side dishes? Drinks included water, tea, iced tea, and clear orange juice that seemed to have been mixed with orange powder. Soft drinks seemed to be an additional charge. When I went to the counter to order a draft beer, a female foreign staff member was leaning on her smartphone, elbows on the table. She tapped the menu without saying a word, as if to tell me to choose from there. It's the worst. The customer isn't god these days. I work in the restaurant industry, too. But it's because of customers that I get paid. Surely I should provide the bare minimum of customer service?! It can't be helped just because I'm a foreigner. I work in Japan. For breakfast, there was bread, and I had processed milk with my coffee instead of milk. I didn't think the rice was domestically grown either. It was long and thin. I had alcohol with dinner, so I paid with cash when I checked out, but a foreign male waiter served me. I received change from a 10,000 yen bill, but he didn't count out the 9,000 yen change in front of the guest, nor did he place it on a tray so that I could see it. He placed it on top of the tray, so I had to pick it up and check it myself. I think they should improve the food and provide training on how to serve foreigners. I think a room-only stay would still be within the acceptable range. I was hoping to relax and get away from my daily routine, but it ended up being stressful instead. This hotel is definitely one I wouldn't want to stay at again. The rooms are equipped with enough toothbrushes and green tea (tea bags) for each guest, and only razors are provided at the front desk.

Good location, large and clean rooms, balcony with sea view, very chill.

The price was cheap, the rooms were clean and tidy, parking was convenient, and the staff were friendly. However, it was quite windy in winter, and there were almost no streetlights, making it a bit dangerous to go back at night. There were convenience stores nearby, which was quite convenient. The breakfast was almost the same for both nights I stayed, which was a little disappointing.
