We were there with a group of friends at the end of October, and the weather was fantastic. The hotel is in the center of the small town of Sant'Agata sui 2 Golfi. You can get there by bus from Sorrento in 15 minutes. I love taking small trips, and we just went to Fiordo di Crapolla. It was great, maybe a lot of stairs back, but the views were fantastic. I'm adding photos. The hotel was okay, the breakfast was very good, and the service was very friendly. I recommend it.

Hotel Montana – The Biggest Disappointment of Our Trip Hotel Montana was by far the biggest disappointment of our stay in Italy — a place I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Four stars for this hotel feel like an impossible dream. Realistically, it deserves no more than two. The hotel is located about 30 minutes by bus from Sorrento, in the small village of Sant’Agata, where there’s not much to do unless you’ve booked an excursion. My single room was no bigger than a matchbox — extremely small and cramped, even for one person. Opening a suitcase blocked the entire hallway, and to reach the wardrobe, I had to climb over it, risking a fall. The shower cubicle was about 65 cm by 65 cm — too small even for a child, let alone an adult man (I’m 190 cm tall and 90 kg). The rusty taps and mold in the bathroom didn’t help either. There were only two power sockets in the whole room — one by the desk and one in the bathroom — so it was impossible to charge my phone while using it in bed. The TV signal kept cutting out, making watching anything quite frustrating. Even though I had informed the hotel a week before arrival that I would need an iron and a kettle, the reception told me they’d provide them the next day. Seriously?! Only after I insisted did they finally bring me a steamer and a kettle right away. Dinner on the first evening was acceptable — the vegetarian option was pasta and an omelet, which was quite nice. Others had pasta and a meat fillet with sauce. Breakfast the next morning was also fine — we’re used to the typical Italian breakfast style — but the coffee was disappointing, which is surprising for any place in Italy. At breakfast, we were asked to pre-select our dinner from a fixed menu with three starters and three main options. The dessert was a “surprise.” As a vegetarian, my choices were tomato risotto and a Greek salad (which I’ve never seen served as a main course — not even in Greece!). Now for the real shocker — the so-called “Greek salad” consisted of sliced cucumber, red onion, corn, chickpeas, olives, cubes of feta cheese, and a strange sauce resembling watery hummus. It honestly looked like something that had already been eaten and returned (see attached photo). And dessert? Canned fruit in a small bowl — what a treat. Others in our group were equally disappointed with their meals. To be disappointed by food in Italy — a country world-famous for its cuisine and culinary excellence — is simply unacceptable. I’m certain that food in any ordinary Italian home would be hundreds of times better than what we were served at Hotel Montana. How hard would it be to offer something truly Italian for dessert — a sfogliatella, tiramisu, gelato, or cannoli?
