Motel 6 Richmond, IN

I've stayed at Motel 6 all across the country and this is the biggest and nicest one I've ever stayed at. It's clean, safe, and other than some cosmetic stuff that could use touching up in the room and the sticky stuff on the floor by the bedside table everything went good. I am traveling with family who is oxygen dependent and she has severe lung issues and after we got in our room and got settled we came out to go eat at the cracker barrel that's literally in the adjacent parking lot, as we came out to the hallway there was a strong scent that was overwhelming and then I saw an employee walking the hallways spraying something so that explained the strong smell. For most people it would just be an annoyance if the scent didn't agree with you (it didn't agree with me, it was awful) but for someone with severe breathing issues who's dependent on oxygen it was REALLY bad and made her physically sick. When we got back from eating dinner the smell had calmed down but I just wanted to mention it to make the owner aware to be mindful of people with medical issues when spraying strong smelling oils like that. There are other scented oils you can use that are safe for people and pets with breathing problems. The rooms were clean, nice hardwood floors and tile by the entryway. There was the one spot of sticky stuff on the floor by the bedside table but everything else was OK. They have a small fridge in the room, no microwave but they do have one out in the lobby you can use. No breakfast but they do have coffee, creamer, sugar for everyone in the lobby. My family member I was traveling with did have an issue with a pillow having nasty stuff all over it and he had to take it to the front and complain. They didn't offer any discount and didn't really apologize for the issue. That's disappointing. Parking is sufficient and the parking lot was clean. I'm a smoker and I went outside to smoke last night and there's an ashtray on top of the trash can, well this morning when I went out to smoke again they had cleaned that ashtray out so it was empty and that was nice to see because I've stayed at hotels that leave those overfilled and the trash cans bulging with trash. They are on top of things here and seem to take pride in having a clean, comfortable, affordable hotel. The big chandelier in the lobby is absolutely breathtaking and I was shocked to see something so beautiful in a motel 6. Also, the entrance to rooms is inside the building rather than outside which is rare for a motel 6. There are small cosmetic issues that would just take some paint and a good cleaning solution to fix. If it was me I would go around to every room and fix those little cosmetic issues and make sure housekeepers know to check behind things and under things when cleaning and make sure they're always putting clean linens on the beds and you will easily score 5 stars across the board!!! Either way this IS the biggest and nicest Motel 6 I've ever been in!!!! And I've stayed at A LOT of them!! Good job guys!!!!

Just stopped to check the room price. Found out found out the rooms were much higher in Quality Inn where I normally stay at on trips. Book the Quality Inn from my app on the phone in the parking lot at a much lower cost.

I was treated poorly by your front desk staff other then the young man who checked me in. When I asked for a receipt for my stay I was rudely asked if I was extending my stay again? Then on my second day here I was told I didn't check in for the second day again very rudely. I won't stay here again because of the rudeness and neither will any of my employees.
