Stayed in Room 22 for for 3 nights. The room was the ground floor of a 2 storey building with an extra door that led into the promenade. The room was as pictured and had lots of rattan style furnishing, which gave the room a traditional feel. The room had a safe, a fridge, fan, AC, a rattan rack and several shelves. There was a low wood chair, but no desk to work on. The chair was perfect for those with an Asian stature. The mattress slightly softer that a typical Asian style mattress, but still very comfortable. The rest of the building is very pretty, a nice restaurant set in a garden courtyard. The menu is large, but not overwhelming. There’s also a large vegetarian menu too, which was great for me. There was more than enough vegetarian dishes to try even for a long stay. Location wise, the guesthouse is right on the promenade and the touristy restaurants are about 100m away. There’s plenty of eateries and bars around. The only minor negatives are that the windows face the promenade and mosquitoes. I wasn’t in the room often enough for it to really bother me. At least there were curtains. The mosquitoes are everywhere, I guess that’s just Thailand and the mosquito nets over the bed were effective. Overall, I had a great stay. The staff are welcoming, helpful, well trained and efficient even by high Thai standards. The staff and hotel website provide lots of information about things to do in Nong Khai.

SUPERB HOTEL!! I highly recommend it!! My boyfriend and I spent two months at this hotel. We had a room with a refrigerator, a fan, a balcony, and a shared bathroom with a shared toilet. We loved this hotel because it has a paradisiacal feel and is right on the banks of the Mekong River. It's located in the city center and close to lots of activities, such as the night market that takes place every Friday and Saturday evening. It's true that the rooms aren't very well soundproofed, but I didn't find it bothersome. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They listen to you if you have a problem and will help you find solutions. We'll miss having breakfast every morning by the Mekong at this hotel, and we'll miss the people who work there too!! It's very good value for money; we paid €350 per person for two months. The food is very good, and there's a wide selection of Thai and European dishes. Right next door, there's a 7-Eleven. I highly recommend it!!
