Unfortunately, a very bad start to our vacation. On day one, we ended up at this "hotel" thanks to some misleadingly good reviews on Booking.com. The staff was somewhat friendly. But that's where the "good" points end. Dirty rooms, an unbelievably filthy bathroom. There was what felt like centimeters of limescale, hair from other guests, cables sticking out, faucets that didn't open fully due to poor design, mold, and water leaking from the grout. Cancellation was unfortunately no longer possible. I slept with a jacket instead of a blanket because it was simply disgusting. When we complained, the staff offered us two other rooms that were just as filthy. After pointing out the good-looking pictures on Booking.com, they simply said that the pictures were old and the rooms didn't look like that anymore. It wasn't exactly cheap either. In Salalah, we got a presidential suite for a lower price, which was worlds better. I unfortunately cannot recommend the Mutrah.

Very convenient location for exploring the city, with ample parking. The rooms are spacious but a bit dated. The bathroom is a bit worn and uncomfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, considering the price, the hotel offers excellent value, so I recommend staying here for a visit to Muscat.
