My Meric Hotel

Stay May 2025 We will never visit this hotel again. Poor cleanliness, poor service (except at the pool bar), and substandard food. We had a very pleasant start to our package holiday (hotel transfer + hotel reception). The room was very dirty, no prior cleaning, and an incredible amount of mold in the shower area. Cleaning and fresh towels were also only provided upon request. The food was basically the same every day, just prepared differently, and mostly unappetizing. Furthermore, the elevator got stuck twice, and we were in it unnoticed for about 15 minutes, even though we pressed the emergency bell several times. When we reported our complaints, they told us to wait until the next day. The next day, they couldn't offer us a solution. The only alternative was to have alcoholic beverages brought to our room. The hotel manager was unhelpful and very aggressive. We then attempted to report our deficiencies to CHECK24, which the company, in conjunction with the local tour operator, investigated intensively for months and ultimately rejected.

We stayed at this hotel about a year ago. In principle, it's difficult to say what I think. On the one hand, I was satisfied with the friendliness, on the other hand, the room could have been improved, let's say. The food was edible, but it wasn't truly amazing. We liked the location: a sleepy little village in a bay, only a three-minute walk to the harbor or the beach. We also liked the friendliness, at least at the time. Actually, most people were friendly or at least neutral. The food, on the other hand, was rather mediocre; many Germans would even describe it as substandard. However, I didn't really think it was good, but OK. The guests: I found it quite interesting; about 60% were Russian. Thanks to my Russian girlfriend, there was no barrier at all. But it was also irritating that there were practically no Germans to be found other than us. The manager: In principle, it was also quite positive, and he spoke fluent German. Condition of the hotel: I found it problematic that there were plates and drinks left by guests on top of all the fire extinguishers, cabinets, and the like, sometimes for weeks. Surely a cleaning person had to take a look? The hotel itself was, at least at the time, in dire need of renovation and was barely habitable. Since Germans have high expectations of hotels and the like, I would cautiously say that 80% of Germans probably wouldn't find the condition very good. Would I come back? Well, I'd say if the price is a reason, why not, but you really have to keep your expectations in check. Photos show the negative aspects (cleaning) and the positive aspects (location and place). It was nice and not so great at the same time.

The hotel is very poorly managed. If you're looking for a budget-friendly getaway and don't mind the numerous shortcomings, you can take advantage of it, but in my opinion, only at a low price. I'll start with the food. When choosing an all-inclusive option through a travel agency, you have to expect terrible cuisine. The food is repetitive, basically the same every day, with a few exceptions, but when it turns out they could serve something different. The food is underheated; it looks like someone took out a huge quantity of ready-made dishes like Ladybird or Frog and heated them up. Overall, it's not tasty. The selection is limited and hopeless, in my opinion. Afternoon tea is served as follows: a tray of biscuits and one type of cake, which I think speaks for itself. Rooms Standard-sized rooms, not thoroughly cleaned. Housekeeping sometimes adds water to the fridge, sometimes doesn't, sometimes changes towels, then doesn't for three days. The elevator floor is not mopped. The pool is small, but quite clean. The children's pool area looks like a paddling pool. The bar offers a selection of drinks: rum and cola, rakija, gin, and that's it. The service is unprofessional. I had the impression they didn't care about the guests at all. Sometimes the coffee machine works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes the water flows smoothly, sometimes it doesn't. The overall experience was very poor. If you're already there and using it for a week, it's best to ignore it and focus on the fact that you're on vacation in a warm country. I don't recommend it.
