Nest Hotel Naha Nishi

Even in Okinawa, it's way too cold for the heating to not work in late November. I complained about the heating not working, but they said, "The heating and cooling is controlled for the entire floor, so it can't be turned on or off." I asked, "Isn't it just a switch?" but they said, "We can't do it without asking a professional." I had no idea what that meant. What kind of system is it these days where you have to call a professional to turn the heating and cooling on or off??? I had no choice but to ask to borrow a futon (blanket), but they said they didn't have any to lend. But come on, sure enough, they have at least one spare futon??? I also wanted some morning coffee (provided in the room), so I asked, "Is there no coffee available from the second day onwards?" but they said, "Coffee is replenished when the room is cleaned, so one coffee every two days," so I gave up. And then, on the third day after the cleaning was finished... sure enough, it hadn't been replenished. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they handed me one with a reluctant look on their face, but when I told them that there were two of us staying there, they looked even more reluctant and just took another one out of the closet and handed it to me without a word. I returned to my room feeling bad, and discovered that my loungewear had been collected and not replaced. The thought of going back to the front desk again and being treated with such reluctance would only make me feel even worse, so I decided not to go.

I chose this place because it's near the subway and there's a steakhouse right across the street, so I thought I'd try it out. The standard rooms are about the same size as a typical Korean motel room, or slightly smaller. They're clean and have all the essentials. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and hand sanitizer are provided, but no soap. The water runs very well. The toilet has a bidet. The beds have slightly firm mattresses, and there's one soft cotton pillow and one firm pillow per person. The view is just a view of the building across the street. If you prefer a busy area, I recommend staying on the Kokusai Street side. There are some bars nearby, but this place is relatively quiet.

The hotel is located about a kilometer from Naha International Street, requiring a 15-minute walk. This is both a drawback and an advantage. If you don't want to walk, we recommend taking a taxi or monorail. However, you can enjoy a quiet evening in a comfortable room without the noise. There are also several local restaurants nearby.
