Location was okay, but everything in the bedroom felt quite outdated, dusty and used, carpet had stains (Why have a carpet at all in a hotel room at all? Collects dust, smell and stains and is hard to keep clean and fresh overall...). The bathroom was renovated, but the tiniest bathroom I've ever saw with no place to put anything of your stuff. We could hear the other guest way too good - especially when the ones above us decided to run a marathon for over 2 hours from 5 am on. We didn't find anything to control the heater who was ON and heating up the room; as the window only opened a little bit the room was too warm and felt stuffy. In general we didn't had a comfortable feeling overall, therefore we checked out earlier than planned and escaped to a different hotel.

We stayed for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience. Our room was nicely presented and the beds were very comfortable. We appreciated the tea and coffee facilities, and it was a thoughtful touch to provide a form where we could request fresh linen or additional refreshments if needed. There were a couple of cleanliness issues, as the TV remote had some dried food on it and there were leftover shopping bags in the wardrobe from a previous stay. These were minor but noticeable details that could easily be improved. Parking was a bit of a challenge. Although we understood it was on a first-come, first-served basis, we didn’t realise quite how small the car park was. The entrance is extremely narrow and spaces are very limited, so we weren’t able to park there and instead had to use a nearby car park at £16 per day. There were also very creaky floorboards. We could hear every step from the room above, which woke me up in the morning and became quite disruptive after a while. However, Martyn (owner) was very friendly and welcoming, and kindly allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated. The location is also great – about a 15-minute walk into the centre, making it convenient but still peaceful. Overall, a comfortable stay with good service, just a few small areas that could be improved. Would stay here again :)
