A very disappointing experience: conflicting information and a completely unfriendly approach to guest service: Our experience with the NH Collection Palacio de Aranjuez was deeply frustrating. On November 5th, we booked a room for December 12th–13th, and the following day (November 6th), we requested a simple date change due to work commitments to December 9th–10th, giving them more than a month's notice and acting in good faith. The problem wasn't the rate, but rather the way the hotel handled our request: • The hotel took almost a week to respond, despite sending a reminder. • For several days, different employees—including the Front Office Manager—assured us that they couldn't do anything at all because "the decision rested exclusively with Minor Hotels." • When we contacted Minor Hotels, the response we received was completely different: according to them, the final decision did indeed rest with the hotel itself. In other words, we received conflicting accounts from two official sources, which made us feel deceived and completely unprotected as guests. Our impression was that the rate and the amount paid were prioritized over the customer, even though our request was reasonable, made in advance, and would not have caused any financial harm to the hotel. It's disheartening to think that a hotel of this caliber values its guests so little. Minor Hotels eventually acknowledged the discrepancy and offered a discount for future stays, but for us, honesty, consistency, and customer service were paramount, and these were lacking at every stage of the process. After this experience, we will not be staying at this hotel again. We hope this review helps other travelers and, above all, encourages the hotel to reflect on how it treats its guests.
