Noppakao Place

I spent more than four nights here during my two-week stay. Of all the accommodations I've stayed at, Noppakao offers the best value. The thin woman at the counter is a bit curt, but I don't mind since I won't be encountering her much anyway. One thing that was a bit inconvenient was the lack of a hair dryer.

The management is as shabby as the old building. - I made a reservation through Agoda, but the payment couldn't be processed on the day of the card payment due to a system maintenance by the credit card company. I immediately emailed the hotel and asked if I could pay on-site two days later, given the situation. The reply I received was, "Okay! There's no problem." - Two days later, I went to the hotel front desk with my heavy suitcase and luggage, only to be told, "Your reservation has been canceled." They replied by email that there was no problem, but they had already given the room to another customer. ㅡ I booked a special price on Agoda, but it looks like they charged me a little more for the room because another customer found it. Furthermore, I was staying in the Nimmanhaemin area before that, and after booking on Agoda, I stopped by the hotel on my way to preview my room, so it was even more absurd. ㅡ I showed them the email from the hotel saying there was no problem, but they said, "It seems another employee did it," as if they were talking about someone else. Throughout this process, not only the front desk staff, but also the middle-aged man who appeared to be the owner, didn't even offer an apology. ㅡ I've been feeling like Chiang Mai isn't what it used to be, so this is truly absurd and disheartening. They probably don't realize that their actions are further tarnishing the image of Chiang Mai and Thailand. ~~ ㅡ Now that I've read the reviews, I see that there are a lot of cockroaches and bedbugs, and the drain smells bad, but I guess it's for the best. ^^
