This is a difficult review to do as I like to be honest about my opinions, so I will therefore say that this is purely my opinion. I found Normanton Park Hotel to have some exceptional positives but with some not so good points. The hotel is in a fantastic location right on the side of Rutland Water, so if you are looking to walk around the lake, this is the perfect base. If you are arriving in the dark please be aware that the entrance from the road is quite difficult to spot, so slow down when your Sat Nav says you are close. Lovely driveway down to the hotel with plenty of free parking available, just remember to put your vehicle details into the system at reception. Our room was in a seperate annexe to the main hotel, so, as I say, I can only base this review on my experience. We were in the Exton room, which was at the top of a straight set of steep stairs. Unfortunately the stair and landing light was on 24 hours which meant that at night the light shone into the room. I'd suggest adding two movement sensors to save money and be better for clients. The room was smaller than expected, but we did have the bonus of a small balcony which allowed a limited view of the water complete with small table and two chairs. The wardrobe was a little unusual and you needed a science degree to get the water running at the correct temperature. It did however have a toto electric bidet and Jacuzzi bath, though we didn't try the bath. The restaurant was im the conservatory and lacked atmosphere but the service and the food in the evening was exceptional. I found the breakfast OK, but not the best for my taste and limited choice. We didn't use any of the facilities so I couldn't comment on that, but again reception and any dealings with the staff were excellent. I think the hotel could be much better, but for what we paid it was great value for money.

The hotel is lovely. Staff friendly and helpful. First class food in the restaurant. We were in the Conservatory for dinner and breakfast and it was lovely and warm. Wish the beautiful view had been better, it was pouring with rain.|Our room was clean and comfortable.||Highly recommended
