The structure is undoubtedly charming, but overall it doesn't live up to a true five-star standard. For this reason, my rating is 4 out of 5 stars. The real highlight is undoubtedly the spa, which is top-notch: beautiful, unique, and evocative, a huge added value that alone makes the experience worthwhile. As for the room (we booked a Deluxe room and were upgraded to a Suite, which is certainly a positive aspect), although well-maintained and furnished with high-quality materials, it has some shortcomings that are hard to understand for a hotel of this category: no electric kettle or herbal teas, a very small bathroom, and a lack of details that are taken for granted in a five-star hotel, such as a toothbrush and terrycloth slippers. The lighting is noteworthy, consistent with the evocative style of the former convent but overall a bit dim: the artificial lighting could be better designed to make the rooms more functional and comfortable. The service, while elegant and refined, can sometimes be a bit cold and at times a little awkward. Let's move on to the bar: staying in December, I expected the fireplace to be lit (particularly because it was advertised on social media), but it wasn't lit, ruining the atmosphere a bit. Furthermore, there's no real cocktail menu, and when I asked for a non-alcoholic drink, the bartender made the selection without any options. It must be said, however, that the cocktail was truly excellent! The breakfast is good, but could be improved: the variety is limited, especially the savory options. The restaurant deserves a special mention: an excellent experience. The chef is knowledgeable, passionate, extremely friendly, and engaging. We felt welcomed, had very interesting conversations, and the cuisine was truly top-notch. My sincere compliments. In conclusion, a hotel with enormous potential and an extraordinary spa, but several details need to be improved to truly live up to a five-star standard.
