Oasis at Gold Spike

Ive stayed at Oasis 15+ times 3 were infuriating. I book through Expedia, so my reviews arent posted on Google. I'm in Vegas regularly and Oasis is the best price and most convenient safe parking and a bed to crash in. This is typically the case at Oasis. Unfortunately the 3 negative instances were far too egregious to not be addressed. First was a situation that at check in I was asked if there were any other people checking in with me. I said no. At this point she simply could have seen my previous stays. Instead she asked me a second time if I would be expecting anybody else. Same answer. She wrote my parking pass and for the third time she asked if I was staying alone. She assigned me a room on the third floor next to a storage closet with a window overlooking the access road for the dumpsters. The facility had plenty of rooms overlooking the pool which is typically where I’m assigned. Having stayed here multiple times I know that rooms with the blinds open about 25% are not occupied. To a frequent traveler this behavior felt targeted and disturbingly judgmental. The second instance was again being assigned a room in the furthest possible location with a view of the same dumpster alley. This time I returned to the lobby to ask if I had said or done something to be placed in the room even though the facility was again clearly less than half full. She immediately accused me of verbally attacking her, which was ridiculously untrue. If the woman I spoke to did happen to be the manager her behavior was so beyond unprofessional she should never be allowed to speak with customers if they have questions. I simply turned around and went back to my room. The last instance (3/13/25). There were multiple employees in the lobby and one guest in line finishing up their check in. I got in line as I have always done and was told I need to check in at the kiosk. This was the first time I was ever told this. I attempted to use the kiosk as instructed but since my reservation was through Expedia there must have been an issue because Brian then attempted the kiosk as well, but said we would need to check me at the counter. Other than my having to request a parking pass which ever other time is offered, the check in was uneventful. This week I was assigned room 229 which was unmarked, down the furthest hallway, next to a storage closet, the and again overlooking “dumpster alley”. I then took a few minutes to look around to see how full the facility was before returning to the lobby. Again, multiple empty rooms were apparent on every floor overlooking the pool. When I entered the lobby there were 5 people working, and no guests checking in. I began to ask the gentleman his name, and before I got the words “pardon, may I ask your name…” a female employee literally got within inches of my face to tell me she was in charge. I responded to her by saying “I happily leave a review after each stay, and simply wanted to know his name”. She immediately backed off, but it became obvious they “knew” they were going to see me again from which my guess would be they knew the room assignment was clearly going to be a problem. Again, the behavior of the woman in charge was deplorable. I barely said one sentence and she was immediately escalating a situation of which she had no idea whatsoever. This is entirely unacceptable in a position of management. Again, Ive stayed at Oasis at least 15 times, and all but 3 have been wonderful, unfortunately these negative experiences all followed the same theme. A single white male staying for one night alone. The behavior I received and rooms I were assigned seemed targeted and at worst racist. Any attempt to discuss my concerns were IMMEDIATELY met with aggression. I have mentioned this in my Expedia reviews, but since I’ve never heard from management. I truly feel the behavior I received was at best based on inaccurate judgement, and at worst simply racist, and should definitely be addressed with management. Good luck with your stay at Oasis
