January 8, 9, 10, and 11, 2026 Stayed for 4 days and 3 nights Day 1 - Hotel check-in, nearby market, seafood restaurant Day 2 - 4:00 AM private taxi tour of Abu Simbel, afternoon Nubian Museum (Due to severe sandstorms in the afternoon, we changed our plans to visit Philae Temple: a desert is a desert, and Aswan is so windy that you can't see an inch in front of you. They say the boat to Philae Temple won't sail until the next day.) Back at the hotel, washed up, and went to bed early. The sandstorm continued until evening. Day 3 - 6:00 AM private taxi to Philae Temple. Paid 500 Egyptian pounds for the boat ride to Philae Temple. Visit Aswan High Dam. Visit the unfinished obelisk. Dropped off the taxi at Carrefour. By the time we were done, it was 11:00 AM. Stopped at KFC on the way back to our accommodation. Ordered fried chicken and rice. The rice was delicious (but with butter). (Soy Sauce Rice Style) I didn't like the fried chicken, so I left some. After stopping by the hotel and resting, I went to the reception and booked the sunset ferry provided by the hotel. I took a boat to Elephantine Island. We arrived quickly on the boat. There was a lot of trash on the island. After exploring the southern part of the island, I took a boat back. I arrived at the hotel at 3:40 PM. The sunset ferry to the hotel was at 4:30 PM. After rehydrating briefly in my room, I headed out on the boat. I watched the sunset from the boat and had a beer, which made me feel better. It was pitch black when I moved to my room. Since it's right in front of the Nile River, I can hear less car horns and the sound of the adhan from the mosque. Still, I need earplugs to sleep. I saw the sunset ferry service provided by the hotel, and it was very nice. On Sunday, January 10, 2026, I took the ferry at 4:30 PM, so I could really see the sunset. They sold beer on the boat, so I had my first beer in Egypt. It was my first time trying Egyptian beer, and it was delicious. I paid 370 Egyptian pounds for two bottles. The scenery along the Nile was beautiful. It was as beautiful as Venice, Italy. If Egypt were cleaner and more friendly and less ripped off tourists, I think more travelers would visit. Personally, I find it very disappointing. It's even dirtier than Korea in the 1970s. Many tourists who come to Egypt have been to many different destinations. The quality of the food would be much higher. If the rooms and service were improved and more sophisticated, even more travelers would come. I hope the hotel continues to improve every day.

A well-maintained, spacious bungalow-style resort with a superb location directly on the Nile. The entire staff provided very friendly and unobtrusive service. The quality of the restaurants deserves special mention. This applies to the extensive breakfast buffet as well as the main courses in both restaurants (Osiris and Italian). Due to the unique location, relaxed atmosphere, and the availability of alcoholic beverages, we repeatedly chose to have dinner at the hotel restaurant. The New Year's Eve gala dinner was also a highlight. The hotel's own tourist office also deserves special mention. A particular thank you to Reham, who organized a fantastic felucca trip and the shuttle to Abu Simbel tailored to our individual needs. The absolute reliability and professionalism of the service providers they recommended, and the resulting peace of mind, are well worth paying a few dollars more than you would at a bargain market. It was one of the highlights of our hotel experience during our Egypt vacation.

The hotel is aging, and the rooms and bathrooms need updating. The sheets, pillowcases, and towels are rough. The breakfast is awful and offers very little variety. Music from neighboring cafes can be heard late into the evening. The staff is not very professional (no room cleaning, persistently banging on the door at 8:30 am...). The only positive point is the beautiful view of the Nile.
