We checked in at occidental The room we paid for is not the same as what we paid for. The front test manager states that what the 3 rd party vendor requested. Contact them which I did and put the agent on speaker. The southwest agent stated what we paid for was what the hotel had listed. Both the hotel and southwest agent . I said the room offered was a room with a patio view of the ocean. (showcase on your website).couch and table an chair. The room they are putting us in has a bed and a bathroom. Limited space. I was told be the agent when we return home send a request for a refund or discount. Nothing they can do while we are there. There are kids in the grounds. We were told by the hotel they can not control. Who comes on the property. Adults only. ( playing in a pickle ball tournament). Communication issue with the staff. Shuttle driver drove us around the grounds over 20 minutes. Sorry don't understand English. Front desk wasn't helpful. The facility rooms has window molding missing in the bathroom Molding in the shower. The hotel send people to clean still there. At night no safe to move around. Due to the limited lighting and wild life. Raccoons other animals in the gatbage bins by the entrance to the buildings. Raccoons scratching on the room doors. The Raccoons came in thru the patio door and damaged clothing and the room our neighbors room. The hotel response just Raccoons. They are just Raccoons not dangerous . Saturday night 1-9 appx 8pm staff was rude an dispectful to my wife .she was at the designated smoking area. The lights were out .the guy (Carlos)came up to her stating they will charge her 200.00 dallors because the light were out she should have told someone yelling at her. I the area assigned for smoking Sunday Continually disappointed we discussed the issue with the management. He stated he would have a talk with Carlos. (Who presented himself as a supervisor then manager. Was neither) Monday we were going off the compound for dinner. 1 attendant ask Carlos for assistance with setting up a uber. He carlossaid no an walked off. Occidental was adamant about smoking. People were throwing stuff at animals. Feeding the animals so the are on the patios. In the hallways, Did not feel safe at night so we stayed in our room. The buffet you had a limited options. Grill choice of egg omelet. Trays was repurposed food from the day before. The beach which was advertised is a public beach. Locals were out selling massages other items We were at another Occidental i. Cancel. The experience was great. We will come back to costa rica. Not the your Hotel
