Had a great short break at the Ocean House. We stayed in a Premium room marina view on the 9th floor. Lovely view and great for sunrise and sunset views! Service was excellent throughout our stay. Great choice of food at the breakfast buffet. Location was perfect, being only a few minutes walk to the marina and an amazing choice of bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

I stayed at the Ocean House Hotel by Meliá (near Málaga) for a weekend in January, so outside of peak season. Overall, the stay was pleasant, but with one very significant drawback. Positive: The room was large, bright, and modern, and offered a very nice view. The grounds are well-maintained and high-quality, and the pools and outdoor areas are visually very appealing. Breakfast was included: The selection was adequate, with a little bit of everything. Nothing exceptional, but solid and sufficient. The location is good if you prefer a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere; however, the hotel is about 20–25 minutes from the center of Málaga by Uber. Negative (very significant): The biggest issue is the very poor soundproofing. You can hear almost every noise: • Conversations and movements in the hallway • Noises from neighboring rooms • Showers from rooms next door or above, even at night or early in the morning • The toilet flush is very loud • The bathroom is cramped, and the toilet is located directly behind the door In addition, outside noises were clearly audible, especially from a water feature/fountain area in the hotel grounds, which operated until about 11 p.m. Since I was there in January, i.e., outside of peak season, I can easily imagine that it could be significantly louder during peak season with more guests, open bars, and generally more activity late into the night. For me, it was acceptable for a weekend, but problematic for longer stays or for light sleepers. Conclusion: A nice hotel with spacious rooms, a great view, and good amenities. However, the very poor soundproofing is a definite drawback. Okay for short stays – only recommended to a limited extent for longer holidays or sensitive sleepers!
