Our stay at Ocean Lodge Resort was truly unforgettable, and the dining experience at The Rooftop at Grounded made it even more special. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt peaceful and welcoming. The rooms were immaculate and beautifully appointed, with plenty of space for our family to relax comfortably. The views alone are worth the trip — being so close to the ocean and watching the light change throughout the day was such a gift. Everything about the property feels thoughtfully maintained and intentionally designed. One of the highlights of our stay was dinner at the rooftop restaurant. The setting is absolutely stunning — elegant and intimate, yet still relaxed and inviting. The night we dined, a local jazz musician was playing, which created the perfect backdrop for a memorable evening. The food was outstanding across the board. Every dish was beautifully presented and perfectly executed, with flavors that felt both elevated and approachable. You can tell the kitchen is led with care and creativity. It’s the kind of meal where you slow down and savor every course. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server was gracious and attentive, and Emily made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. The hospitality here feels genuine, not rehearsed. With so many places to stay and dine on St. Simons Island, this truly stands out. It wasn’t just a hotel stay or just a dinner — it was an experience we’ll be talking about for a long time. We cannot wait to return.

Dinner at The Rooftop at Grounded at Ocean Lodge Resort wasn’t just a great meal — it was an experience that genuinely blew me away. As a chef, I don’t say that lightly. We started with appetizers, and the special featuring roasted bone marrow with collard green pesto and a fig glaze set the tone immediately. Rich, balanced, and thoughtful — indulgent without being heavy. It was one of those bites that makes you pause mid-conversation. Even the bread service had us talking. My kids were wide-eyed when they realized the garlic butter was served as an edible candle. Clever? Yes. Tasty? Also yes. It was delicious and memorable. The entrées were just as strong. My pistachio-crusted sea bass was cooked perfectly — flaky, moist, and sitting on a roasted tomato and collard green risotto that had depth and brightness. My wife’s take on beef tips and rice — seared flank steak over mushroom and pea risotto — was comforting but elevated. My son’s rack of lamb with roasted garlic potatoes and jalapeño mint jam was spot on, beautifully cooked with just the right balance of heat and freshness. Every plate that hit the table was precise and confident. And dessert… wow. The flourless chocolate cake was decadent without being overwhelming. The apple cinnamon bourbon shortcake tasted like autumn in a bowl. But the strawberry brioche bread pudding? Absolute showstopper. We even took butter pecan cannolis back to the room, and they held up for a late-night encore. Service matched the kitchen step for step. Our server was gracious and attentive, and a special thank you to Emily for her thoughtful recommendations and for making sure we felt genuinely cared for all evening. With a local jazz musician setting the tone, the atmosphere was elegant, intimate, and effortlessly cool. Thank you to Chef Matt and Chef Terrence for a meal that’s going to be hard to top. If you’re anywhere near St. Simons Island, don’t miss this. Five stars isn’t enough.

We will definitely recommend and plan to return—we had a few concerns w our room, but the staff were quick to address— The beauty is difficult to explain—take out delivery driver called it our “castle” but you MUST eat at the Ocean Lodge restaurant! The food is indescribable—soooo amazing
