OceanSide Boutique Hotel Hollywood

This was supposed to be my birthday trip. Instead, it became one of the most uncomfortable and disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to overpay for a beachfront prison cell, book a room here. We paid for an oceanfront suite and were given a concrete shoebox facing the pool and the road. The only kitchen window was spray-painted black. The other windows were blocked by beds. No beach view. No natural light. Just vibes of low-budget detention center with sand nearby. The “suite” was laughably small. The oven didn’t work. The stovetop smelled like something crawled inside and died. The refrigerator froze everything solid. The bathroom was the size of a cruise ship closet. The showerhead was so oversized it sprayed water everywhere, turning the entire bathroom into a slip-and-slide. There were hairs in the bathroom when we arrived. I own a housekeeping business. If one of my cleaners left a room like that, it wouldn’t be a discussion — it would be a correction. We requested maid service twice. “20 minutes,” we were told. Two days later? Nothing. No one came. They advertise a “full-service breakfast.” That is wildly misleading. There is nothing hot. No eggs. No meat. No real options. Just cereal and bagels. That’s not full-service — that’s continental at best and barely that. The coffee station looked like it had survived a small riot. Spilled creamer everywhere. Sticky counters. No one maintaining it. The vending machines didn’t work. The on-site store only took cash and nothing had price tags. That’s not charming. That’s chaotic. At checkout, they charged us $30 for two “stained” towels. Apparently washing your face comes with a surcharge. They also provide a detailed list of what you’ll be charged if you “steal” things — including appliances and beds. Nothing says “welcome” like being treated like a criminal before you’ve even unpacked. When we questioned why our “oceanfront” room had no ocean view, we were told the photos online were just a “representation” of what we could have gotten. That’s not how bookings work. That’s bait and switch. Most concerning of all: during our stay, I was approached and repeatedly hit on by another guest who openly stated he was “running from the law.” and tried to solicit me. When I expressed discomfort, it was clear that staff were familiar with this individual. That created an extremely unsettling environment, especially on what was meant to be a celebratory birthday trip. Communication was nearly impossible. We fully understand that English may not be everyone’s first language — but in hospitality, clear communication is basic. Instead, concerns were brushed off or met with attitude. And the overall vibe? Suspicious. Tense. Chairs and umbrellas locked down like guests are expected to steal them. Everything feels controlled, restricted, and uncomfortable. You’re not treated like a paying guest — you’re treated like a liability. This place overcharges, under-maintains, and seems accustomed to complaints. The location is the only thing carrying it. Save your money. There are countless better options nearby that won’t make you feel like you need to check out early for your own sanity.

Recently stayed here mid Feb 2026. The room I booked was not given to us. They put 3 people in a king bed room. Yes they brought us a cot after a long wait, but were not able to accommodate us with the room I booked. Overall the room was mostly clean and presentable. Though there was a mini kitchen, there was not one pot, not one plate nor any utensils. There's no ice machine on the premises. You must buy ice for $4.50 a bag. In the room, there is a note stating that room service happens once every 3 days from the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m... asking for towels and toilet paper was apparantly an issue that we weren't allowed to ask for since it was only day 2 of our stay. (3towels and 2 hand towels in the room, no washcloths. For 3 adults) Having the little corner store in the lobby was convenient. The check in was relatively easy. We were greeted slowly when we walked in. The ladies behind the desk were very busy chatting with one another. So when their conversation was finished, is when we were acknowledged. While waiting for our room to be ready(430pm) we purchased some items from the store area. I waited by the desk with my items for minutes before the lady behind the desk decided to do her job, acknowledged my presence, and finally ring me out. Overall the room and courtyard we had access to were comfortable and all we needed. I would never choose to stay here again bc of the complete inability of the staff to practice any kind of courtesy.
