Where do I begin? From the nightmarish steps to get there or straight to the most breathtaking spot on the planet? It was magical! After gulping down the orange juice (was it orange?)they offered while checking in (God, we needed it! Actually I offered mine to the porter ( I can't remember his name) because I felt so bad after carrying two heavy luggages through all those deadly steps! That should be a part of the labours of Hercules!), we sat down and looked at the magnificent views before us and we just paused, and enjoyed that moment. We had an excellent view of the famous Santorini sunset. We would sit on our chairs, sipped on our wine and watch the most spectacular performance of the setting sun. The room was clean, it had everything we needed. The lady who cleaned our room was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast area was relaxing. There was nothing to complain about (with that view, come on!). The hot tubs offer a very decent amount of privacy considering some of the places we have seen where people pass by literally beside you while you are lounging in the tub. It was so quiet at night, it was so peaceful and relaxing. If we are going back to Santorini within the next five years, we would definitely stay again at the Oia Mare Villas. I just have to emphasize this point: To get there, you need strong knees, you need to be physically able to climb up and down hundreds of uneven, precarious steps. It should be declared on their website the challenge it takes to get to the place because it is tough. On this note, please be generous and kind to the porter. Enjoy your stay!

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price We booked four nights (Oct 23–27, 2025) in a Cave Superior Studio with Outdoor Hot Tub and Sea View to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Sadly, the experience was far from what we expected for a property charging over $600 per night. From arrival, guest care was lacking: no greeting at the drop-off point, no acknowledgment of our anniversary despite prior notice, and no gesture in the room. Upon check-in, we learned the internet was down across the island and had no cell service in the room. No timeline was given for restoration. We arrived at 8 PM to find food and beverage service closed, leaving us without dining options. The room had multiple issues: Persistent sewage odor in the bathroom Noisy fan No towels for the hot tub (we had to retrieve them ourselves) Lukewarm water and non-functional jets despite repeated requests for assistance Breakfast was underwhelming and did not match the premium price point. After one night, we decided to leave early. When we informed reception, there was no apology or effort to make amends — just a curt “OK, I’ll get the porter.” As someone with 35+ years in hospitality, I understand operational challenges, but basic service and attention to detail were completely missing. We left disappointed and disheartened. Would not recommend this property for a special occasion or luxury experience. Checking out was the best decision we made. We ended up booking the Canaves Epitome nearby and it was amazing. Property and staff were fantastic. This hotel will respond to my survey saying they did everything right. DON'T believe it. It's all BS...
