Vacation at the Olimpos Beach Hotel by RRH&R 3* My friends and I stayed at this hotel in July and returned in September. I want to share my review to remind people that you're staying at a good three-star hotel, not a luxurious five-star hotel. Before our trip, I read some negative reviews, mostly from retirees, and now I understand where they come from. It's simple: if you plan to sit in a hotel all day, picking at dust on the shelves and demanding five-star all-inclusive service for your three-star stay, this is definitely not the place for you. I've been to many different countries, traveled half of Europe, and I know what I'm talking about. Many people could learn from the hospitality and quality of service in Turkey. But if you're like us—young and active, for whom a hotel is simply a convenient and affordable base for sleeping and enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner—then it's perfect. The hotel is in the very center of Kemer, and neighboring villages (Göynük, Beldibi, Kiriş, etc.) or Antalya can be reached by city bus, which departs from near the tower. We spent the entire day walking, going on excursions, sunbathing by the sea, and sometimes dining in the evenings, visiting cafes and discos. And for all these purposes, it's perfect, especially the location! A clean bed, a hot shower, and working air conditioning. What other complaints could there be? We simply didn't have time to look for flaws, which, for our type of vacation, are nonexistent. After all, all the beauty of Turkey lies outside the hotel. So, don't choose the hotel for those who are perpetually dissatisfied with everything within four walls, but rather for your own pace. For an action-packed vacation and a budget-friendly stay, this hotel is simply superb! If you're looking for a hotel right by the sea, you can't go wrong. About the downsides (and for us, there really aren't any): Honestly, I can't point out any significant downsides. Everything we encountered wasn't downsides, but rather the characteristics of a 3-star hotel. No huge grounds with entertainment until midnight? Yes, but that's not what we came for. No pool with slides and a restaurant with 10 different cuisines? Of course not, it's not a 5-star hotel. A standard room, without a jacuzzi or bathrobes? Of course. Is the hotel boring? There's live music on Thursdays, and once you leave the hotel, there's music everywhere, every day. The hotel lives up to its star rating! It doesn't promise luxury, but it delivers immeasurably more for the money: warm hospitality and a beautiful location by the sea. Who is NOT this hotel for? This hotel isn't a one-size-fits-all option, and to avoid disappointment, I'll be honest about who is most likely to dislike it. 1. Those expecting five-star service and luxury. If you absolutely need robes and slippers, designer room renovations, branded bathroom products, and a 50-course buffet, this isn't the place. You'll overpay for expectations that a 3-star hotel simply can't meet. 2. Those planning to spend their entire vacation within the hotel grounds. If you don't like to stray far from the pool and your main goal is an all-inclusive experience from morning to night, with entertainment and endless snacks, you'll be bored here. The hotel has modest grounds and basic food. 3. Families with small children looking for a "kid's paradise." There's no water park, clown entertainment, or playroom here. A child might simply have nothing to do if they're constantly confined to the hotel. 4. For retirees or very laid-back couples who view the hotel as their primary resort. As other reviews have rightly noted, if you spend the entire day at the hotel, you'll inevitably begin to notice those minor "imperfections" (simple furniture, small glasses, cicadas buzzing in the trees next to the hotel, a modest food selection) that simply don't matter to an active traveler. In short, the hotel isn't suitable for those who view a vacation as a test of its high standards. Bottom line: We had a wonderful vacation and got exactly what we wanted: sea, sun, tanning, positive emotions from interacting with the staff, and we made new friends in Kemer. If you value warmth, budget, and location, then this hotel is for you. I definitely recommend it and would happily return.
