Olisamir Hotel

Host and the owner of hotel was very rude and unpleasant. For the first night we were moved to airbnb next to the hotel due to overbooking. Food was far under average in Italy and mostly made from frozen prefabs.

As a trained cook and former head chef, now retired due to illness, I had the pleasure of exploring South Tyrol for five days with several bus travelers (37 paying passengers). But the conditions in this dive (the food was a disaster – a menu cost two euros more and was unappetizing – and dessert was served on a cardboard box in the evening) were unbelievable. My dog at home gets better food. Breakfast was an absolute no-go – no vegetables, no fruit. Many of the bus travelers' rooms (last week of October) were cold. Nobody seemed interested in showering or washing their hair. My wife was blow-drying her hair when a furious employee banged loudly on my door. I opened it and rushed over to the switched-off hairdryer, shouting something in Italian. I pointed to the thermometer in the bathroom, which read 17°C. I then demanded to speak to the manager and complain. At reception, I told the receptionist I wanted to speak to the manager, but the head waiter, who is in charge of the place, came over. I complained to him, but he got louder and louder, yelling at me to get lost. And the old receptionist yelled at me to get lost. This was on the second day. I knew my rights and calmed down, then said to the two who were yelling, "I've already paid for everything here, and I'm going to eat now." From that day on, I saved myself the seven euros for the wheat beer. This innkeeper (or owner, I don't know) didn't get another drink from me, not even water. My wife, my friends, and I didn't drink any of that. I was so angry. They could have charged me for it. My conclusion: Luckily, there's a pizzeria not far away where they gladly accepted my money. Time to put it behind me and write this review. I've never experienced anything like it, and I don't give a damn about this innkeeper who can't handle his customers. I'm ashamed of such a fellow professional. I've read many reviews here, and I'm telling you, the customer is always right—that's what I was taught.

The hotel, or rather the Olisamir dive in Cavedago, was simply a disgrace. The room was dirty, there were cobwebs on the walls, it was freezing cold with an outside temperature of 6°C, and the heating only ran from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There was mold in the room and bathroom. We had booked a double room. The small room also included an iron bunk bed, which was directly in front of the radiator, meaning no heat entered the room at all, and we couldn't reach the wardrobe or the mirror. The food was lukewarm and tasteless, and desserts were served in paper cups. The owners were so unfriendly; we've never experienced anything like it. On the last morning, there was no refill at breakfast, so anyone who arrived a little later was out of luck and didn't get anything to eat.
