this hotel was very close to small restaurants and bars. it was located close to the Brewery and the Canals. the rooms were spacious and bigger than most hotel rooms in Japan. there was an excellent breakfast on the 3rd floor and a drying room for boots and ski gear in the winter. They also had the option to wax your board or skies if needed.

Hoshino Resorts Urban Hotel Overpriced if you think of it as a "business hotel" Inexpensive if you think of it as a "semi-Hoshino Resorts" The interior is beautiful, as it hasn't been open for very long. However, the official website is very well-presented, so if you have that impression, you might get the impression that it's just a regular business hotel. This is especially noticeable in the cheaper rooms. The room I stayed in this time did not have a bathtub, only a shower. *Some rooms have bathtubs. Also, it's about a 10-minute walk from Otaru Station, making it a bit difficult to visit during the cold winter months. When focusing on "living" and "location," I feel there are "cheaper accommodations available." But it was definitely Hoshino Resorts. You can really feel their commitment to "experience." There is a new building and an annex (the name may be different), and the breakfast venue and cafe bar are located in the annex. I booked a room in the new wing this time, but I slightly regret not spending the extra few thousand yen and staying in the annex. The breakfast area operates as a cafe/bar during the day and night, where you can enjoy a LeTAO collaboration menu and listen to classical music box tunes. If that were all, it would be interpreted as "investment in capital equipment," but the staff also periodically play the music box. As I was admiring a rare disc music box, a staff member asked, "Would you like to try inserting a coin?" The staff member explained how the disc music box worked and showed me the disc. I was very happy with their thoughtfulness. I was impressed that they offer added value in the "guest experience," rather than just providing customer service as a hotel. If you're staying in the cheapest room without meals, I would recommend staying elsewhere. The Hoshino Resorts group is adept at making you think, "Maybe I should stay in a nicer room while I'm here."
