Onsen Ryokan Kamiaizuy

When I arrived at this inn by car, the staff pointed me to a public area next door that was not the inn's parking lot, which I found unpleasant, but I parked my car there and stayed in a room inside the inn that I couldn't see outside, and the bath was so small I couldn't see the view and there was dirt floating in it, so I regret having stayed there.It's a terrible inn.

The building itself has a historic feel, but it has been carefully maintained and thoughtful touches are evident everywhere. The rooms have been renovated, providing a clean and comfortable space. Amenities are plentiful, and there is an air of human warmth and a sense of the richness of daily life. The displays were like the luxury items you'd find in a department store, the kind of things you'd never buy for yourself but would be happy to receive. The beds in the guest rooms were of high quality, and I slept soundly. My personal preference for a purely Japanese style, and while it's a little different from the dignified atmosphere of a long-established inn, combined with the friendly staff, it felt almost like I was back home. There are both indoor and outdoor baths, and both are genuine natural hot springs with no added water or heating. As a result, the water temperature may be a little too hot or lukewarm depending on the day, but you can adjust it yourself. As an inn located in the middle of nature, it is recommended for those who can accept the presence of insects as a matter of course. We could see deer and cats from the balcony, and the quiet nature was soothing. Sparklers were available in the lobby, and as I picked one up while gazing at the river, I felt nostalgic, as if returning to my childhood. Everything at dinner was delicious and carefully prepared. I was surprised at how quickly the food was served, but the naturalness made me think, "If I were at home, this wouldn't be a problem." The staff were also very friendly, and we had a very comfortable time. Of particular note was the sake brewed with hot spring water. It had a soft aroma and was surprisingly delicious, and I found myself drinking several glasses. It seems that each ryokan in Shiobara Onsen has its own original sake, so I'd like to try some of the other brands next time. The price was 74,000 yen for two people (drinks not included). Including the room, food, hot springs, and service, I feel our stay was well worth the price. As it is not a large inn, I can imagine that there are some areas that the staff cannot handle, but all of the staff are kind and sincere, which I think is the inn's greatest charm. I am looking forward to my next stay.

We stayed at Kamiaizuya in Nasu-Shiobara Onsen. The landlady came to the parking lot to greet us, and her bright, cheerful smile and thorough guided tour of the hotel put us at ease. The riverside terrace in front of the lobby is pleasant, and I'm sure the view would be even more beautiful in the fall when the leaves change color. For dinner, we had excellent wagyu beef shabu-shabu in a private room, and were impressed by its tender, refined flavor. The baths are spacious, with both indoor and outdoor baths, and they warmed us up comfortably without any sulfur smell. In our pure Japanese-style room, we were soothed by the sounds of the river, the trees swaying in the wind, and the chirping of bell crickets, while enjoying a luxurious time gazing at the twinkling stars in the night sky. For breakfast, we had overnight dried sweetfish and buckwheat porridge, which was delicious👍
